   I had a very poor experience with this solicitor firm (in Particular Conveyancer named Carole Walford) during a recent property purchase. I had to pull out of the transaction after unexpected service charges were revealed late in the process which should have been picked up by Evan Derry Solicitors during their due diligence checks.Despite the purchase not completing, I was still expected to pay the FULL solicitor’s fee as if the transaction had gone through. When I raised concerns, I was met with little understanding or flexibility. Instead, I was threatened with added interest charges if I didn’t pay promptly, which I found both unfair and unprofessional. There was no sense of fairness or appreciation for the fact that the situation was beyond my control. This experience added a great deal of stress to what was already a difficult situation. Communication throughout the process was extremely poor. I constantly had to chase for updates and rarely received clear answers. There was a clear lack of urgency and attention to detail, and I often felt like my case was not a priority. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a frustrating experience. I expected professional support during such an important transaction but unfortunately did not receive it. Save yourself the hassle and go with a firm that values your time and investment. I would not recommend this firm to anyone purchasing a property.

   Used Evans Derry for probate, dealing with Andrew Edge, the whole process with them was really stressful never answering emails or phone calls totally unprofessional, took 3 months for him to even send in the application for probate and I understand it had been done weeks before! Eventually transferring to another member of their team and still took 10 weeks to receive first email from them, **avoid this company as totally unacceptable and unprofessional** ,

   I was recommended EDS from a family friend who had a positive experience with their Conveyancing team. Unfortunately, after receiving a good competitive quote and instructing I was left disappointed. It was an almost impossible task to get in touch with EDS via phone/emails and a number of messages to call back. Finally, I heard back from them to upload my details on their portal and notice that the DocuSign fee was significantly more expensive. When I questioned this, I received a passive aggressive email saying that I didn't provide them with the full details and that they "suggested I do provide them with or another solicitor with full details to obtain a more accurate quote next time"... I then forwarded them the initial emails which did in fact have the full details that were 'missing' and have since had no response. If they simply spoke to me and said there had been an oversight or an error, I probably would have just paid the extra amount but due to their professionalism and lack of communication I would personally avoid and not recommend.
