    I attended" Phillimore " 1937 when we lived in Fitzmaurice Road. The headmaster was Mr Bailey,a fine gentleman. Some of the teachers I remember were Mrs Hazelwood, Miss Drummond ,Miss Codd( later Mrs Conway,) Miss Glossop, Miss Thomas, Miss Walker,( infants), and the dreaded Miss ( Amazonian) Williams. Got my half mile swimming certificate at the Attercliffe baths ; Mr Bailey was keen on getting as many pupils as he could to learn how to swim. A happy time, in spite of some of It being spent during the war years.

    There are way not enough parking places around the area and the road that it is situated on is tiny making traffic accumulate when you go there. If you are going for your child go earlier and don't park on the small road as you wont be able to get past. If you are driving by do count for bigger traffic around the area at around 3, when school finishes.
