Ive had good and bad experiences here, once inside the staff are very efficient. Its trying to get down the road when it's busy is a nightmare.
First time entering the site, unhelpful staff, so no help given in obtaining the correct entry info had to ask a fellow driver from our office.. Stacker driver impatient once there.. Site instructions should state new drivers should enter office with paperwork and appointment ID. No wonder the industry lacks new drivers!!!
It’s an ok place. If you are colour blind then avoid. Markings need to be clearer for someone new and those that go there rarely like me and forget where areas are.
Busy road, isn't a good location for a freight terminal. Will be if they will provide a waiting parking for lorries with up 1 hour stay as the road must remain clear.
Since the vbs system has been put i never have a problem going here it's a quick turn around to get a box lifted and a box on sometimes it only takes minutes and you are out the gates. It's made my job alot easier. The staff on the intercoms are very helpful too just incase your box has failed to deck.
They changed few things there, now you have to go through scanners from left side then to vbs machines for location instead of talking to person on window for locations.
This place is so badly laid out I didn't have a clue where I was going or what I was doing nobody at the start to explain where you need to be. Only given 1 star because of the guy in the fork lift stopping and putting me right.
December 2021- The honeymoon period of VBS has finished. Bank on being here for quite a few hours. Don't plan a second job or a particular time to be anywhere. Give yourself 2 to 4 hours to get a box off and on, and then be prepared to be late. One star given because the staff are still pleasant. November 2021 -Gone to the VBS system and entry is now more consistent. Friendly staff if you need to contact then through the intercom. The only thing that let's it down is you don't know if you are going to be in there 10 minutes or 4 hours. Depends in demand, shift changeovers and breaks. Still you can wave and smile at everyone and most will acknowledge you and exchange pleasantries. Good people.
