Really enjoyable day in delightful setting. Chris ran a great course building on knowledge from previous beginners course. Small group of 4 guaranteed plenty of individual support and advice, and ensured development of new skills. Informative and interesting local knowledge and history made for a great day.
I had an amazing experience on the beginners course in Tansley this weekend. Chris was great at breaking down the technical information and his visual explanations really helped me understand the different settings. Would definitely recommend!
Well-designed course; competently taught, with clearly-written handouts. Chris made sure that everyone understood what had been covered in the classroom-based and then with the later practice outside. Chris was completely aware of the camera model each person had, and helped them to understand its operation.
I had a lovely day with Chris where we went through some theory on things I’d often wondered about but never really understood before! And we had some practical training which relayed specifically to our own cameras. Chris has an incredible knowledge of seemingly every camera on the market! Well worth attending and great fun.

I received a personal photography training as a birthday present from my wife, who ordered the course from Chris. I can say he was a great choice. Chris shared practical advice and useful information with me that can only be obtained after many years of practice. This is exactly what I needed. Apart from his photography expertise, he know well the Peak District and told me many interesting things about the area. I recommend him to everyone.
I did the beginners course as I wanted to understand how to get the most out of my camera and understand when to use certain settings. Really enjoyed the day, Chris was really great at explaining things and we had lots of time to practice in the afternoon. I am much more confident now in using my camera and would recommend anyone to sign up for the sessions. After a bit more practice I may well return for a landscape session.
Chris is an exceptional trainer, always able to explain what you need to know and a little more, so you can keep stretching yourself. Both my wife and I found Chris to be extremely knowledgeable with respect to the area as well as photographing the locations. Although we were not able to go to our preferred waterfall location or the moor when the heather was at its best, due to re-scheduling for COVID, we still took some wonderful photos. We are already talking about when we go on another course!
