Do not bother with their online courses. Save your time and sanity. After enquiring about their cyber msc, I was called repeatedly to enroll. I decided to, and was planning to take part in the October cohort. I went through the enrollment process; uploading CV and certs etc. there was zero communication from the enrollment team. They don't answer the phone or reply to emails. At one point David did answer but said I would now have to join the January cohort to which I agreed. Still no communication... phone and emails not answered. "Help" desk and main switchboard cant help. Thanks for wasting my time.

I did a foundation year and due to not hearing back in a timely manner and all the paperwork showing I was going onto first year they then informed me I'm not to which I dropped out due to not getting any funding. I left at the end of September. They are now trying to charge me and sent to debt collectors a whole term Shocking people to deal with, especially after me explaining this to many staff

Shocking disability support. All "learning contracts" are generalised unless YOU tell them you want something different, no communication between departments so there is consistently someone missing information or not giving out correct information, want to appear welcoming to all types of students yet they consistently fail students like myself who have disabilities that are invisible, feel it necessary to create societies and clubs then bar anyone who needs an assistance or guide dog to be with them and who is protected UNDER LAW from taking part because THEY feel they can and THEY THINK theyre above the law. No consistent support, complete lack of support and very few actually trained people in disabilities as most of the learning contracts are just "see our link on how to work with [insert students disability] here" and then not much else....had i known they were so irresponsible disrespectful and incompetent I wouldn't have disclosed my assistance dog nor my disabilities to anyone.

I’m writing this review to share my experience with student support and administration during a difficult time in my life. When I was at university, I had already decided not to continue into the following academic year due to personal circumstances—including serious mental health struggles and the loss of a close family member. Despite this, student support advised me to enrol so I wouldn’t miss the cut-off date, assuring me that it was the right step. I trusted their guidance. Unfortunately, I dropped out within a month or two. I never attended any lectures and remained in contact with student support throughout, explaining my situation and the reasons I couldn’t continue. I expected compassion and flexibility. Instead, I was later sent to debt collectors for unpaid tuition fees for that term. I was shocked. I had made it clear how much I was struggling, and I had followed the advice given to me. Yet four years later, I’m still paying off this debt through a management company. It feels like I was penalised for seeking help and being honest about my situation. This experience has left me deeply disappointed. Universities often speak about supporting students’ mental health and wellbeing, but in my case, those words didn’t translate into action. I hope sharing this helps others think twice and encourages institutions to treat vulnerable students with more care and understanding

My experience at Sheffield Hallam University has been, frankly, disheartening. While I arrived with enthusiasm and high expectations for academic and personal growth, what I encountered instead was a system that often prioritizes financial gain over student well-being and integrity. From the beginning, there were red flags—misleading communications from overseas agents, inconsistent support systems, and an environment that, at times, felt transactional rather than transformational. For an institution that markets itself as student-focused, the lived reality often tells a very different story. Academic engagement felt shallow, and support services that were promised—especially to international students—often lacked follow-through. In moments of stress or need, the response was frequently bureaucratic and cold, rather than empathetic or solution-oriented. It’s difficult to thrive in a space where mental and emotional well-being are sidelined in favour of administrative processes and financial optics. I have, in all honesty, disengaged emotionally and mentally from the university. The only reason I continue is for my personal growth and to complete what I started. But I no longer trust the institution. I now see it as part of a broader system where vulnerable international students are sometimes exploited by agents and institutions alike—sold a dream that quickly dissolves upon arrival. I am actively researching and documenting the manipulative tactics used by both recruitment agents and the university itself. I hope to use my experience not only as a lesson but as a platform to advocate for transparency and reform in how international students are recruited and supported.

It’s one of the best Universities in England with huge population of International Staff and Students. Have cutting edge equipments for R and D. Easily accessible for admission and high ratio of its students graduating successfully. The University is currently witnessing catastrophic expansion, opening more campuses around England including London. Recently, the school has earmarked billions of pounds for this project.

Confusing layout with linked buildings that aren't really that separate architecturally.... And let's not get started on the lifts. Seems that their conference offering could and should be better contained, catering disappears at odd times, so unable to use purchased drinks vouchers...

An awesome place of higher learning, module leaders are superb in their doings and the academic environment is topnotch. Awesome architectural structures to stimulate your artistic curiosity and the likes. The modules are designed to help you grow not just burden you with mere academic activities and the exposure to state of the art equipment in your field to prepare you for life after your program is mind blowing....

Do NOT study Nursing at this University, you will spend years being lied to, bullied and extorted. There is 0 communication from any of the staff here, you’ll be waiting weeks for a reply to a simple question and probably won’t ever get a reply. Staff will spend years telling you they will fix things but they won’t. Your course will overrun so you have no idea when you will graduate and insufficient funding to cover this will be provided. You might spend your time worrying how you are going to feed your child like I did. This University is absolutely despicable and take your money without delivering on the education that you have paid for, then when you try to hold them to account for this, they will bully you and try to force you to quit. Many nursing students on my placement did not experience this because they went to Derby, Huddersfield etc. Please listen to my warnings and do not do nursing at this uni, you will regret it and never get your money back!
