Shocking this ward traumatised me till this day and I was here in 2022. Like being incarcerated. Terrible everything about it could write a page. Council need to shut it down

A complete and utter disaster. I wouldn't leave a rat in there. For a much as they are changing location it will still be the same people running it. My brother has been neglected for months so glad he's out of there and in another place and they didn't even tell me. .

Majority of Staff lack empathy and some so called nurses were just blatantly cruel, mocking patients etc. Patients are just coshed up with medication to placate them. Environment actually worse than a prison environment with Harrington ward literally a corridor with a cage to a smoking area and steps to a small outside area you can't swing a cat in that they open when they feel like and no set times, no free access to fresh air. Wards horrendously hot in summer and some patients actually smoking in them. Patients rarely taken outside the hospital and hospital itself dirty and feels more like being incarcerated than hospitalised. Therapy is colouring in and not much more and is actually extremely patronising to anyone with an iota of intelligence. Poor staff retention and consistency as Dr's change all the time and patients have to repeatedly explain their experiences. No blinds or window coverings so woken up at the crack of dawn by daylight. Sometimes no access to a pillow or blanket there simply aren't enough. All in all probably the worse environment you could conjour for someone with serious mental ill health and definitely not conducive for recovery! Broadoak your reputation preceeds you!

Unkind. Uncaring. My son was found passed away by the crisis team last week. Despite my calls to them. Their constant replies that " they would call me back" Not one single call. Message. Email. nothing. Shameful.

Besides of the fact that we are all struggling outside of work , as life can be very challenging to any of us the service within this particular unit been found good. Accordingly with care quality commission its very difficult to achieve higher grade than the minimum requirement which we do have to meet. If anyone have got question im more than happy to answer between 9am.

I hope no one has to experience Broadoak unit. When trying to find out a family member who has been kept there, they don’t seem to assist in any way towards their wellbeing or inform family members to what is going on. No doctors to speak to about her treatment. An OT phoned once.. for what reason I don’t know. Haven’t had any news of a social worker assisting in my sisters care. But I suppose they are all on the payroll for doing ????WHAT keeping a 70year old person locked up. You would think they would improve access for people with behavioural health issues to treatment in the community without being locked up. I wonder how long they keep them. It’s been approx 6 months and I have never been able to see her. I agree with another reviewer phoning is disgusting... so I feel sorry for any one who has to go to this lock up unit and have caring families who only wants to help... because you won’t get it.

Broadoak- Albert Ward- Liverpool Ignorance will come after what you love with hate. Ignorance will cipher your mind too encrypt your heart. Ignorance will flatter your ears too steal your ideals. My mind was out of fashion but still in season. Feeling touched my spirit, cordinated my soul. I was a great geographer of ideas. Loves lovely hymns sang too me, from the tarmac, from the earth. All was taken away by Dr Foxtrot and Dr Esau oblivions minstrels. Now I am entombed in hydol muscle spasmodic misery. My heart and being too. While Ward manager, nurses and nurse assistants scowl contempt. Olawale Ajanosi Jr Wednesday 19th January 2022

Only reason it gets a two star is due to how nice the staff are in person from my own experiences. However, the laziness, rudeness and downright ignorance of some of the staff is alarming. I have had a family member here, multiple times when I have tried to ring them, I’ve had the phone put down, been told to ring back later as they are too busy and most recently that I have to ring back as they have something else to do. The response time is also appalling with it taking 15-25 minutes to get through to a member of staff. What if it was someone’s life at risk and they take that long? When I have been there in person the staff have been lovely but over the phone service is something that 100% needs to be improved. Most of the time get the feeling that they don’t want to be on the phone, they don’t want to talk or they don’t care. If this is the only option for people to end up there the system needs a update!!!
