Was on holidays and needed to be seen quickly for a prescription. The reception staff were a little bit difficult initially as I wasnt in the system, but once the ins and outs were worked out I was seen very quickly by Dr Martin, who I have to say is one of the best GPs I have come across. A great manner and very understanding.
Unfortunately service appears to be deteriorating. Second time I have not been able to get an emergency appointment (earliest a week away). Arrow park walk in clinic now appears to be the way to get a doctors appointment relatively promptly (3hr wait). You can go to Eatham but they don't appear to have a doctor only a nurse who does triage then sends you to AP.
Appointment for ADHD diagnosis on 23rd Jan. Dr said she would refer and to drop forms off for attention of Amy. 24th Jan, forms dropped clearly for the attention of Amy. 05/02 - text from surgery saying I need to drop forms. 05/02 - call to surgery explained forms with Amy. Amy not in so said they would call me back if any issues after speaking to Amy. No call but thought would check. Called surgery on 03/03 to just check all okay. No notes since 05/02. Amy not in but they would ask Amy to call back following day. No call. 07/02 - I called surgery who said they would ask Amy to call either way. No call from Amy so on 09/02 called again. 28 mins in queue at 3.30pm to get through. I am not impressed with surgery who have still not found my forms. It’s 6 weeks today since I submitted and nothing.
This is my second attempt at getting an emergency appointment. Previous week fobbed off with 111. Today on the phone from 8am. It took 88 attempts to get through. Placed number 15 in the queue. Spent the next 35 minutes waiting to speak to someone. Told them it was an emergency. I was told in an abrupt manner that they had no appointments today and that I would have to try tomorrow at 8am Also told there were another 15 people behind me waiting for appointments. There is no ability to book an appointment with this practice. They have stopped people being able to make appointments through Patient Access, it is no longer possible to book appointments through the NHS app. You can’t book appointments for other times of the week. Calls are handled by people with no medical background who are making the decisions as to who gets the appointments and who doesn’t. I find it very scary that a practice can be so poorly run. I think it is also particularly scary and dangerous for the elderly people in this village to have to fight to get an appointment. This practice is a disgrace. It has deteriorated so much and it is putting peoples lives at risk.
This practice strength was Dr Hamilton who is a lovely DR who actually listens to the patient with empathy , however she has been on maternity leave for a year this practice has struggled in all areas since and had rapidly declined . Let's hope it improves when she comes back or we will have to move elsewhere . The services which it provides struggle could not get a blood test for weeks .
Moved from Heswall to this area and joined Willaston practice. I cannot praise them enough for the kind reception we received. They definitely put patients first. So refreshing!
3 weeks just for a phone consultation, dreadful.
Been member since I was a child and moved to Ireland and rejoined in February. After taking weeks and weeks to rejoin and they didn’t even let me know I’d became a member again, since rejoining.. had an appointment in February regarding mental health... still waiting to hear anything back almost 8 months on... I’ve called them up and spoke to someone regarding this 3 times and still nothing. Never felt more let down by an NHS service in my life. Don’t know what else to do other than have to leave... they only care if your an old person gettin a vaccination
Im moving my doctors practice to this surgery. You have to wear face mask wait outside to be left in. Very polite staff on reception.
