Disappointed with home insurance service at Shirley, Solihull branch. Requested quotations on 2 separate occasions from Carl and on each occasion have had to keep chasing. 2 days to get a quotation from him and still waiting!!! Have given up with Shirley branch now and have contacted Solihull branch instead who have been so much more helpful and professional.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the customer service provided by the A-plan Insurance Shirley branch. My experience with them has been frustrating and disappointing. Firstly, they sent me two different renewal insurance quotes through an online link. However, I was unable to access these quotes due to a login password problem. This lack of accessibility was already a red flag for me. To my surprise, the branch decided to keep me on a higher rate insurance policy instead of offering me a more reasonable option that was available at almost half the price. I only became aware of this when they debited over £300 from my company bank account on July 13th. This sudden charge left me feeling deceived and taken advantage of. When I contacted A-plan Insurance to inquire about the charge, I expressed my disappointment and requested to be placed on a better insurance deal. I have been a loyal customer for the past three years and have never made an insurance claim. However, it seemed that my loyalty meant nothing to them, as they showed no interest in providing me with a fair and affordable policy. I provided written consent to cancel my policy from July 21st, 2023, as I had already paid for a two-month duration and did not wish to continue until the following month. I also followed up with a phone call to confirm the cancellation and requested written confirmation of the policy cancellation. Unfortunately, they did not respond to my email and proceeded to debit £150 from my company bank account. When I called them to question this charge, explaining that I had already notified them of the policy cancellation, they claimed that the direct debit had already been processed and they were unable to stop the payment. They assured me that they would investigate the matter and get back to me, but once again, they failed to follow through on their promise. Feeling frustrated and ignored, I sent another email to inquire about the situation. To my surprise, they responded with a different figure, justifying their calculation and claiming that I had only been overcharged by £7.50. This inconsistency in their communication only added to my growing dissatisfaction. In order to resolve this matter, I had to escalate the issue to the senior management of A-plan Insurance. Thankfully, they were able to provide me with a full refund on the same day. However, it is disheartening to think that if I had been involved in an accident during the 3 years period while I was insured with them, they probably would have looked for an easy way out. Overall, my experience with the A-plan Insurance Shirley branch has been extremely disappointing. The lack of communication, disregard for customer loyalty, and questionable practices have left me with a negative impression of their services. I would strongly advise others to exercise caution when dealing with this branch.

I have had my insurance sorted by A-Plan for the past 3 years now. They are amazing. My first contact was with Clair and she made sure I got put with the right people. She was so friendly and helpful. Carl has been my main point of contact. He saved me so much money on a home insurance quote and even got me more coverage than I had before. This year it was even cheaper. His customer service is amazing, he has always been so helpful and supportive, answering any questions or queries that I have. I would honestly recommend this branch. The help and support they offer is above any other company I have used in the past. They really make you feel taken care of as well as saving you money with competitive quotes.

I didn't find them helpfull ... I previously had a policy canceled due to know fault of my own (which is getting sorted now ) it says on thier website they help with this sort of thing ...they couldn't find me anything in the end after 4 days of trying the 1st initial phone call with amina sounded promising but didnt get my call back and had to chase it up myself . In the end I found a policy myself online without even doing phone calls now in my opinion if they as professionals couldn't find me one but I did myself they can't be that great !everyone has different experiences but for me it was just a waste of time .

I've used A plan for my commercial insurance for nearly ten years. Unfortunately I had to make a claim last October on my policy. I was told no problem your not at fault especially with 2 independent witnesses and a company will call you shortly. They took on all my claim. Only when I tried to upload my driving licence 6 hours later I saw hire vehice cancelled. I called the company to then be told I shouldn't have been told it never shouldn't have gone to this outsourced company through A plan. A plan were far from helpful. Calls and emails weren't responded to frequently, admin work neglected delaying my payment for claim to name a just a few problems. I was told my van was written off. I took out many policy's when insuring my vehicle to ensure if I was ever involved in an accident I would be fully covered and have least affect on my earnings and business under the advice given by the "professionals". Little did I know the replacement vehicle replacement was a ford fiesta!!!!! I have a crew cab transit lwb to transfer materials and tools around as well as up to 6 persons. They may as well have offered me a push bike for how much use a Fiesta would be to me. Few month's down the line I have recieved messages from members of the public saying my company has been trespassing, damaging property etc. Baffled by these comments I then found out my old "written off vehicle" has been sold on and used by some else with all my company's contact numbers, email, name clearly displayed!!!! Once again I was phobed off and told the insurance company has followed procedure, which is utter nonsense as your can clearly see all my companies/personnal details FULLY on my old vehicle!!! Far from helpful I was left to do all the chasing yet again. Perhaps I should set up office next door on the High Street and call myself A plan with all their details displayed and see how long it takes to get a reaction!! Now when my insurance is up for renewal I've done all the chasing yet again for a renewal price, and I got told I'll get call backs but nothing. Finally after waiting 2 weeks for a call back I called up again and got through to someone. They kept me on hold and told my insurance increase is from around £1000 upto now £3500!! Bearing in mind my 10 year no claims were protected and the only claim I've ever had to make. Fortunately I already searched elsewhere and got a premium of £1050 for the exact same policy. Clearly no effort made by A plan what's so ever. This is by far the worst customer service I have EVER recieved in every aspect. I used to recommend to a few of my clients, I wouldn't wish this company on anybody. "Working" from home surely isn't doing your business any good at all, at least your staff have plenty of time with their feet up at home. I think if they continue in the manner they are at present they'll be at home permanently but now with unemployment and no pay.

Called these people today, with a view to transferring my insurance policy to them and also taking a specialist car insurance and home insurance. They were so honest, got me the best deal on specialist car insurance, but honestly advised me to stay put with my other car insurance and home insurance companies. Cannot fault them and will most definately transfer at renewal date, even if more expensive as honesty and good advice and good customer service is worth paying for. Marilyn Melville
