   My musical instrument insurance blurb updated to this fresh provider after many a year under the outgoing team. It's still the legendary titled (amongst trumpet-type players) 'BBIS' and it's still underwritten by the heavy hitting Aviva. By coincidence my scheme was due it's annual renewal and by further coincidence I had purchased a Yamaha 8310Z trumpet to replace my older Smith Watkins .464 R25 model. Adminstrative time was called for regardless. So far all is top quality. I have no need to talk to a human from Adler, and hopefully I may not need to. A five star rating holds, even amongst the in house updates which have been handled with ease from their Birmingham outpost which I liaise with!

   I wouldn’t recommend Adler Insurance unless you’re happy to be significantly overcharged, receive a substandard service and attitude if you challenge anything! There is no transparency when it comes to their “fees” and nor do they clearly disclose the amount on policy / renewal paperwork. When you do ask them to disclose the fees earnt their initial tactic is to skirt around providing a straight answer, abit like politicians! In my experience they were 35% more expensive compared to another broker with an identical policy using ultimately the same underwriter. To make it a fair comparison, I also asked another broker who provided a quote of £500, using an underwriter that Adler also use deal but apparently cheapest they could do was a “competitive” £700.02. Then we get onto the complaints handling, where they ignore half the complaint (probably the bit where they’re caught red handed ripping customers off) and advise it’s their “final response” hoping the matter will just go away. It’s clear they will use any means necessary to make a quick buck, but If you need “competitively” priced insurance go elsewhere.
