Our stay at Dockside Lodge was very disappointing and frustrating. We arrived in a very industrial area and was welcomed by a bag of poo near the entrance to the lodge. We were warned the entrance door handle was "temperamental " but no further instructions were given on how to open the door. We put in the code in the key pad but the door handle didn't release to let us in. We tried again and again. For at least 20 minutes if not longer. We contacted the out of hours phone line on WhatsApp to no response initially so we felt stuck in a place that didn't feel safe to be . The door finally opened after many attempts and we received a message that maintenance would be sent . There wasn't any apology for the delay or acknowledgement that the door handle is not working sufficiently. We were uncertain whether we could really risk leaving the property unless we could work out the door mechanism. We attempted this again and again ,giving it numerous chances with one of us inside the lodge but still the door seemed to open at random, so it wasn't fit for purpose and could be a safety risk With this in mind, my boyfriend and I decided we had to forgo our evening plans which included losing out on a booking. And we would try contacting the lodge and the booking agency Booking.com This took over three hours, speaking to three different booking.com agents who polite as they were; didn't really know what to say or do about our issue. We were offered a Β£15 refund if we canceled the second night of our stay which seemed paltry . We decided after the first night that it wasn't worth the risk of going out to our booked event for the second day as we didn't know for certain when or if the door would operate and by the time we left the property, no maintenance team had arrived and no further message was received from the Lodge or Booking.com so we felt very let down by the customer service unfortunately. The main principles of customer safety seemed not to be heeded. And to pay what we did for our reservation and not have an accessible entry to the property is like daylight robbery. Its a basic thing that could have been fixed before. So I would definitely not recommend staying in the Dockside Lodge and it seems unlikely you can if the door is anything to go by!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Stayed here for a trip to Anfield, Β£6 taxi to the stadium, the rooms were really big and had loads of space, shower was amazing, so handy to have access to a kitchen and amazing value. Will be back!

I wasn't expecting much for the price but I was pleasantly surprised with everything. Modern, clean room and bathroom and even a nice view of the River Mersey. Not much external noise with the windows closed and amazing black out curtains. The location isn't the best but it's only a short walk to the local train station. I would definitely stay here again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

It was a decent place, value for money to stay. When we arrived there It was evening and we were not sure how to open the doors with codes. Luckily the lady in charge arrived for something else and she said that she was not told about our bookings and our room was not ready. She also showed how to open yhe doors with given code numbers. So, we had to leave our bags and went to city centre to spend some time. Then we returned the lodge. The room was clean but bathroom door was not closing properly. There was a communal, clean kitchen if you want to use. The location was not very good if you do not have a car. But if you have a car it s not far from the city centre. All in all it is good.

For the price, it was fine. Bathroom was nice but the bedroom furniture could’ve done with a dusting before we arrived. You could literally write in the dirt on one of the bedside tables. It wasn’t a huge issue for us as we were using the hotel purely as a base for the night but it made me question the cleanliness in general. The location is pretty terrible insofar as there’s nothing around there in terms of amenities. Obviously not the hotels fault but just be aware that there’s not really an option to pop out anywhere local. It cost us about Β£8/5 minutes in an Uber to get into Liverpool centre so it’s fine in that regards. Would I stay here again? I don’t think so, but for travellers who just want a bed for the night that’s kind to their pocket then this could be somewhere that suits.

New management is AMAZING. It was my first time coming back since there has been a change over. I was so excited to finally book in again. I love the easy access as I get my own personal code to the front door and room. The wifi is good and room is in perfect condition (as always). Kitchen is big enough to store items as I was staying for over the weekend and wanted to cook. It is my go to whenever I visit Liverpool. 5 stars!

Its alright for the price, but the two nights i was there i struggled to sleep. The walls were thin so i could hear everyone walking in and out. I can't see how people can say this is situated in a great place? Its about half hour away from any pub and an hours walk from liverpool one. The heated towel rack heated nothing, the tv signal was terrible and the area was just dun down. If you need a cheap place to stay then it will do, but be prepared to walk a distance.

Currently staying at this flat. Im giving it 2* because it’s only decent. Room very basic. Walls had a few marks on it could do with a lick of paint. Bathroom is done up really well but very small! Location is terrible. Nothing is walking distance. Not even a corner shop!! Always getting cabs which is the only option as it’s no where near the city centre. Bedding lining had some stains. And toilet wasn’t cleaned (scrubbed) very well. Won’t return here.

Accommodation and amenities are really good. They've got a really warm and friendly little cafe next door. The only issue it the neighborhood. It's very industrial and smells a bit weird, because it's right on the shipping docks. It's good for anyone that's just looking for a place to crash on a tight budget.
