We used Brearleys for conveyancing recently. I will say specifically Anne Murray at Brearleys, was a shining beacon of calmness and compentency in an ocean of idiocy and ineptitude when it came to dealing with the solicitors within our chain. Will 100% use these guys again. But only if Anne is dealing with the paperwork! If any of the higher ups at Brearleys read this, I would be hoping that Anne is line for Christmas bonus of some sorts for pushing the chain to completion.

Brearleys solicitors were incredibly professional, efficient and helpful throughout our family house purchase. It was not the easiest purchase but Kirsty and Anne were always on top of the situation. I highly recommend them. Paul

Recently worked with Faizaan from Batley Law on my wife's case, impressed with his professionalism and dedication. He was always available to answer any questions and kept us informed throughout the entire process. The staff at Batley Law were also very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend Faizaan and Batley Law to anyone in need of legal assistance.

I am adding this review as my previous review from August 2019 has disappeared from another review site and would like to talk about my experience. We had a very poor, slow and error strewn experience using Brearleys when purchasing our home in 2019, nearly leading to the collapse of the sale. As first time buyers we felt that we did not receive adequate advice or help with our purchase. We tried our best to navigate most of the complex legal documentation we received on our own, with occasional queries via email to our solicitor Gemma Etheridge. We never managed to speak directly with our appointed Solicitor via telephone or in person through a five month + process and towards the end of the sale had to constantly chase to find out what was happening. The exciting process of buying our first home was made stressful and miserable all due to the service we received. We found email exchanges to blunt, and telephone conversations with other team members to be unhelpful and sometimes even rude, when all we wanted from the team at Brealeys was an occasional update or something to be explained in a clear manner so we could be sure that things were going well. As you can imagine, we did start to loose faith as the sale dragged into its fifth month- especially as we were chain free first time buyers. By the final stages of the purchase we'd sent our deposit ready for completion and then had it returned weeks later as it was decided that the sale was not ready to complete. The request of funds with a view to imminent completion caused the vendor to leave her job (before moving abroad) and be without income for several weeks. Thankfully, due to forming a good relationship with the vendor and estate agent the sale eventually went through. Unfortunately, I can not recommend Brearleys for conveyancing based on my experience.

My brother & I used Brearley's for a probate sale of a property. They had been used by our relative to purchase the property only a few years ago, so we thought that was a good recommendation, plus the quote was lower than the others we'd received. Communication was difficult from the start of the sale process to the end. The combination of Brearley's and the buyer's solicitor almost derailed the deal entirely & only the estate agent's intervention saved the day. If money is tight for you, then they may be a viable option, but be prepared to put the effort in to keep the process moving along. You'll also need to research the selling / buying process; don't just take their word as being correct. If I have to sell another property, this experience has put me off using a solicitor - I'd be prepared to have a go myself.

Great service! Aneeka and Tracy both went the extra mile for us, completed house sale in very good timing after we needed to push it forward two weeks, they went above and beyond to make it happen for us even at this difficult time. Look forward to working with you both again on the next project!
