I have purchased an armchair from them 11 months ago via their website. The paint on the tip of the armrests was moist and even touching it lightly was leaving a mark. I initially thought that it will dry of and it will be fine like the rest of it. However the paint has never dried not even to this date and it has peeled off. I had no option of giving them this feedback in the first 30 days because of personal reasons. However I decided to do it now knowing that they are a reputable brand and also knowing that under the Consumer Act 2015 I have the right to at least a repair. I wrote them an email only to be met with an insult to my intelligence saying that what happened is just wear and tear and that I should not scratch the furniture with my nails. Absolutely disgraceful and disrespectful. Even if the rest of the paint on the armrest was fine and dry, apparently the tip has a special prohibition on being touched. The agent seemed to have the script already written and probably they did. It felt like having a conversation with a virtual agent. Obviously as I know my truth I have made a complaint to the Ombudsman not for any money but for the principle. However regardless of the outcome they have lost a very loyal customer. The fact that the item had a fault was not the issue but the fact that they were so inflexible and not attuned to the customerβs needs and rights is unacceptable. I wish I was able to upload the video so people can see how easily the paint comes off but I am at least attaching the pictures.

First class attentive and not pushy service, sofa and bookcases arrived in tip-top order, sales, aftersales and delivery teams efficient, friendly and accommodating, will definitely return when we want to furnish the other rooms in our house. Highly recommended.

Recently purchased an L-sofa from the store in Guildford. This was a display sale and we fell in love with the style, comfort and design straight away. The saleswoman was friendly and we got a good price as it was a display unit. All was goodβ¦.until it wasnβtβ¦..When the sofa arrived the legs were broken and there were stains on the cushions. Obviously we complained and got someone to come out and fix them - this took over a monthβ¦. The guy came and assessed the sofa, cleaned the cushion and said we needed to order the parts. The parts were then sent to the wrong address, once we collected we had to wait another month for the leg fitting. When the man came to fit the legs he realised we were not sent all of the legs required and the supporting leg was missing. We then had to raise a request for another leg to be ordered and for someone else to come and fix the new leg. Overall shocking post-sales experience. Given the amount they charge for their items, I am truly shocked at how disorganised and stressful the post sale experience has been. Wouldnβt recommend for the price point.

Located on Ladymead in Guildford, this furniture store is both fun and a bit pricey, though it does offer some more affordably priced items. You'll find that most pieces are very well-built with stunning finishes, and there are some wonderfully eclectic options mixed in with their standard sofas, tables, and beds. An added bonus is their excellent cafe, serving both hot and cold drinks as well as food."

"I can't speak highly enough of the staff at this furniture store! My wife and I have visited several times over the past six months, and each time we've been blown away by the exceptional service we've received. The staff members are not only incredibly professional, but they're also some of the most helpful people we've ever had the pleasure of working with. When we finally decided to purchase a sofa set, the staff went above and beyond to ensure that we were completely satisfied with our purchase. They took the time to understand our needs and preferences, and provided us with plenty of options to choose from. They even helped us navigate the delivery and set-up process, making everything as seamless as possible. Overall, we're thrilled with our experience at this furniture store and would recommend it to anyone looking for quality furniture and exceptional customer service. Thanks to the amazing staff for making our furniture-buying experience so enjoyable!"

Cavernous sofa retail space, interesting place to stop off wether or not you intend to purchase any furnishings. Enormous range of items selling at the top end of the price range. Also has an inviting looking in house coffee shop but put any money you were intending to spend on refreshment towards your sofa instead....their coffee's and smoothies are the worst I've ever come across.

If I could put no stars I would. Fist time using barker and stonehouse Guildford and I would never use them again. We bought two products from them, a sofa (no problems) and a wardrobe. Firstly the wardrobe came and was lots missing (we paid for someone to come and build it) and the quality was poor (worse then ilea) after going into store to sort it out with Rachel (then the store manager) her customer service was great). We were told we could use the half put together wardrobe until the new one arrives or get rid of it. We kept it for the time being, got our new date for the wardrobe finally after lots of delays and only the outer shell was delivered. Still waiting for the inner part! The worse part is instead of keeping the old dismantled wardrobe taking up loads of room in our living room we got rid of it. Now are told by the new store manager (Ian) that we have to pay for the new wardrobe. I can honestly say this man does not care what we were told, does not come up with solutions just problems and has very poor customer service, how he ever got promoted I will never know. He should never be a store manager and will damage the reputation of that store. I never normally leave reviews but this store is beyond the expectations of what you would expect after paying quite a lot of money for the products.

No! No and no! I do not advise you to choose them! I ordered a centrepiece candles holder, arrived damaged, and their options were: 1. Come and pick it up yourself (5 h away of my place) 2. Keep it damaged and will give you just a 25% discount( for a piece of junk that cannot be even repaired) 3. Sent back the item and youβll get a refund. Obviously I went with the third option, sent the item back but so far I didnβt received a refund. Tried to get in contact with them numbers of times, no one will reply to emails, just if you call them and wait on the lineβ¦ So, after my experience with their handling of the orders, I do not recommend to βget in business β with them, also because the quality of the product was also rubbish!
