   If you want to have a lengthy, expensive and stressful experience with a solicitor definitely choose these guys! Hands down has to be the worst solicitors. No communication, too busy for their own good and do not make an effort with their clients!

   Used BRM solicitors for buying my first home, the best one around chesterfield I’m sure by far! They kept me more then updated throughout the whole process, any questions I asked they got back to me as quick as they could( I’m quite an impatient person so it was music to my ears)!! They explained everything perfectly to be able to understand everything. Very knowledgeable and really appreciate the effort they put it to have it quickly turnaround.    Professional, efficient, polite and friendly We dealt with Katie on our sale and purchase and we had a very prolonged journey to exchange of contracts, due to very inefficient and unresponsive lawyers for our buyers. Katie was excellent, seemingly always calm, and quick to reply to my emails or phone messages. She had to do an awful lot of chasing round, mostly failing to get any response for her hard work and the whole procedure must have been very frustrating and trying for her but this never ever came through to me. I have used BRM before and would most definitely recommend them.

   If there was a zero rating, I'd award that without hesitation. Originally had some very helpful free advice from one individual at this company, so decided to go with them for my house sale. Contacted them to enquire regarding the process and was told in no uncertain terms, after being given the third degree as to why I was choosing a solicitors based 200 miles away to sell my home, to get back in touch when I had a buyer and not before. (Many solicitors will speed up the process by getting the formalities out the way in advance but not BRM). Find a buyer a week later, gave BRM's details to the agency, and BRM sent out a dozen forms for me to complete - would have been helpful if they'd contacted me to ask where to send them as not at the sale property for 2 weeks, but there they were waiting for me on my return. I rang them up to enquire about the identification documents as I as uncomfortable posting my passport and most places accept photographs. Again I was given the third degree on why I was choosing them, and finally told that I'd have to visit them IN PERSON, before they would do business with me. The only alternative they offered was to visit a local solicitor in person and pay them to certify my identify on their behalf.. They lied to me about the reasons for this. I mentioned this to my estate agent who said in 10 years they'd never heard anything like this occurring - indeed many conveyancers operate nationally without personal contact with their clients. They also (in the previous phone-call) gave me faulty legal advice regarding planning permission for a shed, which they believed was not required, despite me pointing out that the property was a flat. So if you want knowledgeable, competent, polite solicitors, I suggest you look elsewhere.
