   There’s great customer service, and then there’s Mahitha Vukkalkar at Magnet Acton. My husband and I are both creatives, which is code for very opinionated and often pulling in opposite design directions. The patience, calm and care Mahitha brought to the process was honestly exceptional. She listened properly, navigated every curveball we threw at her, and created smart, thoughtful solutions with total grace. Magnet’s tagline is Better. By Design. Mahitha doesn’t just live up to it, she embodies it.

   I would give 4.5 stars to their service if I could. I am extremely satisfied with the kitchen planner, Mahitha, but I am disappointed with the attitude of the manager responsible for returns of unused parts. Mahitha from the Acton branch is an amazing kitchen planner who has been incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. She is polite, sincere, and patient, always taking the time to answer all our questions. Initially, we hadn’t seriously considered Magnet Kitchens because the original quote was quite expensive and beyond our budget. However, Mahitha went above and beyond to secure the best possible price for us and suggested cost-effective alternatives. During the planning stage, we explored multiple design ideas and wanted to understand the cost of each option. Mahitha patiently revised the layout several times and provided updated quotes to help us make an informed decision. She also offered valuable design suggestions, which were far more helpful than those from other suppliers we engaged with, such as Wren and Howdens. When we finalised our kitchen design, the technician, Anthony, visited us. He was extremely knowledgeable and kind, answering all our technical questions. Unfortunately, we made a mistake by hiring a sloppy kitchen fitter from MyBuilder who didn’t properly follow the installation guide. When we encountered issues and disagreements with the fitter, I reached out to Anthony, and he kindly joined a chatroom discussion to explain the correct installation process, which helped resolve the problem. The kitchen quality is excellent, with rigid units that feel sturdy and well-built. While there were a few minor flaws on some panels, Magnet replaced them quickly and without any hassle. However, during the planning stage, it was discussed that there might be excess panels when designing the custom unit. Magnet confirmed that any unused panel could be returned. Eventually, two panels were indeed unnecessary, and it was agreed by email that I could visit the showroom to return them. I travelled more than an hour to get there, but the manager simply said the package was opened and therefore the warehouse would not accept the return. She didn’t even try to take photos or contact the warehouse. The package was opened only because they instructed me to check every item upon delivery and report any damage—exactly what I did. It felt like a trap. In reality, it seems there was never any intention to accept the return. I ended up wasting the £80 spent on the unnecessary panels, as well as my time. Overall, I am very satisfied with both the planning service and the kitchen itself, though disappointed with the manager. Still, I will give Magnet 5 stars, as the planning service alone deserves more than 5 stars, and I am happy with the final product.

   Magnet Acton gave me one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. They were friendly and responsive while I was planning my kitchen and paid a deposit — but the moment I decided not to go ahead, everything changed. No one replies to emails, no confirmation of my cancellation, and weeks of chasing for a simple deposit refund have been ignored. Once they know you’re not buying, the service completely disappears. This is unacceptable and goes against basic UK consumer rights. I’ve had to consider legal action just to get my own money back. If you’re thinking of ordering here, be very cautious before paying a deposit. Once you cancel, don’t expect help, updates, or your money back without a fight.

   Had a design appointment nearly three weeks ago with Mahitha Vukkalkar now and had an appointment scheduled to take me through my design a week later. It got cancelled and moved to later in the week with a promise of a design and still nothing. Last email said I’d get a design by end of day and then I get a reply saying she’s on AL. Terrible communication and unreliable. We’ve been to a few kitchen providers and Magnet has been the worst by far. Do not use! I’m clearly never going to get a design…

   I recently went through a.most beautiful experience of designing my kitchen. My kitchen fitter insisted I go with MAGNET. On the day of my appointment. I met with Mahitha who is based at the MAGNET showroom in Acton. She patiently listened to my preferences, made me aware of the options which helped me to make informed decisions and in end she came up with a design which surpassed my expectations. I left a very satisfied customer 10 out of 10!!!

   You would expect a company as big as Magnet Trade to centralise their operation such that you can return an item to any store... But they're stuck in the 1970's so you have to go to the same shop you bought it from. Pathetic!

   Derek I know you are the manager of the branch, But can I say that your staff Anthony needs to be award for his services and knowledge. We had come in on a Saturday afternoon after going to two other appointments and tired. After the two appointment we had a bit of ideas and stuff for our kitchen. But then what happened when we got a magnet was amazed. We had gone to see all the kitchen on display and then spoke to Anthony about our kitchen and the amount information and things he has recommend as alternative which is equal the same quality but better for value was amazing. Anthony my friends you were amazing. We will definitely be going with compact laminate.

   Lot's of choice when it comes to kitchen units and worktop, very good costumer service. Exelent when you need a short notice pick up, extensive coverage allows you to get the desired items from other branches that are close to your location around London.
