I expected a long wait to confirm whether my arm was fractured, but was seen within a few minutes in every department. Staff in every area were friendly, efficient and clear about what I needed to do and where to go. Really impressed and grateful for the care I received.

Brought here by ambulance with suspected sepsis and I still haven’t been seen by a doctor ten hours later. This hospital is not fit for purpose. It’s overcrowded, filthy and the staff are hostile and rude. The local down and outs were causing havoc in the waiting area last night, bickering, shouting, swearing and harassing people which went on for hours. Not a single security guard stepped in to stop it. Absolute shambles.

A&E is awful here. To all those who praise this place and say they are grateful for such a 'free service,' it's not free as we pay for it through our taxes. From the moment I arrived with my desperately ill 93 year old Mum, it was total neglect! 5 hours in a corridor before after begging a doctor to see her as I genuinely thought she was going to die, she was finally administered fluids and eventually antibiotics for an obvious UTI. Developed into Sepsis, which could have been prevented if medical care had been provided earlier. Another 7 hours in the corridor before finally being found a placd on a ward, but no porter or nurse to transport her - absolutely shocking and dreadful. Anyone who praises this place has a very low bar.

The worst hospital I've ever been to, the emergency department. I went with my brother to the emergency room because he was hit by a car and had several bruises. He also had a lot of pain in his leg and they didn't treat him if he didn't. After 10 hours of waiting there, we didn't give him pain medication and they didn't ask him if he was okay. The doctors and nurses inside took up to 2 hours to call a patient. Not only that, there was also very poor hygiene. Bad experience at this hospital. I would never go to that hospital again in my life.

I visited the emergency room with a fractured leg, expecting a stressful situation to be met with care and clarity. While the initial process took under three hours to check my blood pressure and direct me to the minor injuries area, everything unraveled from there. The waiting room was completely empty. Not a single update, not even a screen—just silence. Staff came and went, chatting among themselves, and only one person acknowledged me to ask why I was there. After hearing my answer, he nodded and walked away. That was it. Nearly an hour later, I was still sitting alone—unseen, unheard, and ignored. By this point, I had been in the hospital for more than four hours without any information or care. How does something like this happen when the department wasn’t even busy? Watching staff laugh and socialise while I sat in pain, unsure if I’d been forgotten, made the whole experience feel surreal and deeply disheartening. Is this the kind of healthcare system our taxes are supposed to support? This was more than just a long wait—it was a failure of basic communication and compassion. I understand if they are people, but almost two hours, in this empty room ?

Long wait time very rude staff. Not enough of them. Dr Ben was really nice. But it a shame that the nurse are not the same. From what I saw with there interaction the other people waiting was heartless, dismissive and really rude and disrespectful of even the elderly. Only one pole for 5 people to use at the same time on closely fitted chairs. No room to breathe and sitting all bunched up together. While others sat on the floor for hours. I have been to several third world countries and see better cleaner health care. Sham on you. They all need some customer service and people skills. I know things are hard for us all but we are all are human at the end of the day. Respect is earned and manners don’t cost a thing.

Very efficient! The wait wasn’t long and the staff were nice and professional. I went to the E & A because of a hernia, I was in pain but it wasn’t urgent, and I got an appointment with a doctor the next day. This center is perfect for anything, whether urgent or non-urgent. They have food and coffee and good seating capacity. Would definitely recommend.

I was given fantastic care at Whipps Cross A&E when I had severe abdominal pain. They're under a lot of pressure. You can't expect them to get things done super quickly but when I needed help they were there for me. I'm extremely grateful for everyone's hard work and want to say a massive thank you to you all for being listened to, properly examined and treated appropriately. It’s so important people share the positive experiences as well as the bad ones.
