The best gp surgery I have ever used, the staff are really nice and it obviously suffers from the general NHS issues but I've had to use a fair few different GP surgeries over the years and overall this one is by far the best, most efficient and effective one.
Avoid this practice if you have small children. It is very unlikely you will be offered an appointment with a doctor; instead, you will usually be seen by a paramedic. Both of my children were misdiagnosed here, which caused us a great deal of upset. In addition, a referral that should have gone through to Kingston Hospital was submitted incorrectly, creating unnecessary inconvenience and extra work for both myself and the hospital. The surgery itself also feels outdated and run-down. Suffice to say I have registered with a highly recommend doctors surgery!
My wife has tried for over 4 weeks to get an appointment with out any luck after the Doctor asked to see her following an Xray, Contacting my local MP to put an official complaint in about the way this practice is being run and plan to move to another practice ASAP
Hersham surgery is Elmbridge’s best kept secret. They are absolutely fantastic. Requested something for my son from his record and it was turned around in less than 10 minutes. The admin staff are kind and attentive and doctors are out of this world with their knowledge, personal service and bedside manner. I’ve been with them for around 12 years and they truly are amazing.
2 different GPs asked me to make appointment. Tried for over 3 weeks but none. Then today after 3pm phone call telling me to come in now - have no transport, too far to walk due to health problems. Can't get taxi due to school run bookings. Receptionist said I'll tell doctor you WON'T attend!
I have used their same day appointment system which works very smoothly and I have got an appointment most of the times when I really needed it. I have a 2 year old who goes to nursery, so I need appointments quite often. Even when they don’t have a slot they try to give appointments in another GP clinic. Doctors are very caring, the best I have seen. The receptionists are also very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend it.
Very sorry that some people have had a bad experience. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The Doctors have always been spot on when I have been in; and the Girls in the office have always been polite and professional. We all experience pressure in life and are not always 100% but there are always more positive points to the surgery than against.
If I could give them a zero I would …… any 5star reviews here I believe to be totally false!!!! The reception staff are horrid, uneducated and have a self importance that bellies belief!! With zero medical training they feel they are worthy of “triaging” patients. What gives them the right to decide who gets an appt and who doesn’t is unclear to many!! On the plus side drs and nurses are lovely ……. Get rid of the entire reception contingent and start again with a telephone system ……. Something that ACTUALLY WORKS. This surgery has been a great support to myself and my family. All the GPs, nurses and paramedics working there that I've come across have been caring, empathetic and supportive. Thankyou very much.
I've been in the process of arranging an appointment for 3 weeks with their online service that takes up to a week (!) to respond to routine appointment requests and now they've given me a 3 hour time slot on a workday where I have to wait for their call 2 weeks in the future. My prescription has now long run out and I am without my medication. Absolutely useless. Use a different GP in the Walton area.
