I felt as though the gynecologist here is condescending. I came here a while ago for a consultation and lab, and the Dr told me the mg of a medication I was on was so low it was basically a placebo effect. I told him no that the dose I was on is the maximum dose, which he argued against. I had to pull up NHS info on the medication to show him he was wrong, which he then said he must have misread it- instead of admitting he was just wrong. This felt particularly condescending as a woman with a male gyno, as he should have researched this himself instead of me having to prove it. I also feel as though selling mushrooms to improve thyroid antibodies with little to no substantial evidence proving any efficacy is also unhelpful. He also told me my hormone levels on birth control contraception pill were way too low to be normal. I have since consulted with two other gynecologists who said this is simply not true at all. He suggested getting off my pill and retesting, disrupting my hormones for no reason since the values were actually fine. I believe the doctor seriously needs to retrain his common knowledge on normal references ranges for hormones and very common medication dosage. Until then, he is operating outside of his scope of practice.
Dr Wing, Sian and the whole team are by far the BEST Women's Natural Health Clinic I've ever experienced! Many of my friends and colleagues have truly been helped with tricky health conditions or things they were told "can't be treated", etc. HIGHLY recommend!
