beware. they violate your trust and actively seek to work against you, and nothing they say has any merit they actively attempt to deceive you, and ultimately as far as you are concerned they are an immovable object. keep your mouth shut. anything you do and say WILL be used against you. oh I forgot to mention, not only did they interpret what I said incorrectly, they also lied about wanting to fix any errors on their interpretation of what i said. they also sent a letter about an appointment with a 5 day cutoff period from the date of the letter being printed, this letter arrived 2 weeks after that date. i will be paying them another visit soon to formally complain about all matters. the administration team is unhelpful and lack compassion and attentiveness, and the medical professionals are no better. you are better off with no treatment than treatment at the springwell center

Be VERY careful if you get referred to these Psychiatrists here in Barnet Hospital. They DO NOT CARE about your health or your life. They prefer you were dead. People in healthcare should have a duty of care to SAVING LIVES but these psychiatrists here in Barnet hospital don’t. Let me tell you what happened to me with them. So I live and grew up in London. I went to secondrary school in High Barnet. Me and my twin brother went to school in High Barnet. We respectively went to QE Boys and QE Girls (he went to QE Boys and I was at QE Girls). QE boys is on Queens road, which is DIRECTLY OPPOSITE THESE GUYS AT BARNET HOSPITAL. QE Girls is right next door to High Barnet Tube station. So that is NOT AN EXCUSE for them to be “oh I don’t live in Barnet, so I don’t know the area”, not an excuse when both schools are IN PLAIN SIGHT. Now these Psychiatrists had FOUR separate conversations with me on four different occasaions and they then WROTE LIES on my medical records, claiming they “cannot help me because in their eyes I DO NOT HAVE ANY connections to London or High Barnet”. This was despite: 1) My GP Surgery is IN THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BARNET 2) All of my friends and family is in London and they live in the Borough of Barnet and these guys KNOWS that 3) They insist the BEST solution to my problems was to take me out of London away from my friends and family and basically isolate me from them. 4) They also told me that my old school (QE Girls) IS NOT in High Barnet, London. So where the fuck is the school? Because I went to the school for 7 years and in 7 years I was going to a school right next door to High Barnet Tube station and according to the hospital its NOT QE Girls. They also claim there is no secondary school in High Barnet. Gee whats the school next door to High Barnet? Primary school or Secondary? And where the hell is the school I went to located if its not next door to High Barnet Tube station? These people emailed me at 11.58am, Wednesday 2 April 2025 telling me the above, that they can’t and WON’T help because of the reasons above, which then caused me to stick my legs over the balcony, on the top floor of my University Campus (there are 4 floors in my university campus) I was SECONDS away from jumping and nearly jumped. If one of the law lecturers had not walked past and saw me with my legs over the balcony, about to jump and physically dragged me back over the balcony and back into safety I would have been dead PHYSICALLY DEAD. Barnet Hospital Psychiatrist knew this and they admited they were PROUD of causing me to do this, with the lies they told me as well as the lies they wrote on my records. Do you (as a patient) really want help from these NHS Psychiatrists here in Barnet hospital, who clearly do not care about you or your health or whether you are dead or not when they CLEARLY care more about rejecting patients. They also did not care that I nearly jumped off the balcony on campus nor the fact I was thinking of buying a gun at 11.58am on 2 April 2025 and was only still alive had a law lecturer not walked past and dragged me back and if she had not walked past at the right time I would have died, physically died. These people are PROUD. As they are proud of their action, I am proud that the university head of law asked she can specifically use the information told to me by Barnet hospital, for 2 of the law modules 1) Ethics, Discrimination and human Rights and 2) Medical Law. I gave it to her and it is now being used in law modules in my university

Don’t try to call them, they literally will only speak with you if you make the effort to go up to Barnet Hospital, and even then they sigh as if you’re causing them a great trouble. Don’t hang on the line hoping they’ll answer, because they just pick it up and hang up on you before you’ve even said hello - at which point they’ll then take the phone off the hook. I have been waiting over 9 months to be contacted for a follow up, so I may commence medication that I really need? It’s really not on is it. I understand the department is under funded clearly but not even one person who’s willing to help? I’m trying to chase my treatment up but of course I’ve been hung up on now 5 times. You need someone that is SOLELY a receptionist because you’re making vulnerable patients feel unheard and unsafe.

Unbelievably poor service, pretty much non existent. One star is to recognise it exists. I’m not sure what for, who they help or how. But a young adult that I care for who is deemed such a high risk she can only get 1 week of meds at a time has zero support, no care coordinator and no psychiatrist. Her meds have been abruptly stopped without reason and no consultation.

I was honestly so discouraged by the reviews that I was planning on cancelling my appointment, but I have to tell you I had a completely different experience. The ladies in the reception were lovely, my counsellor was fantastic, I’ve had multiple therapists in the past and for the first time I actually felt heard. Also just from sitting in the waiting room and overhearing the counsellors escorting their patients out the premises, everyone is so kind here. I saw another review saying the ladies in the reception area don’t answer the phone, but I heard them answering, I saw them helping visitors, I’m quite confused by the terrible reviews but I guess everyone has different expectations. I’m really grateful for getting such a lovely counsellor and I would encourage anyone reading this to at least give the centre a go because it might not be as bad as the reviews make it out to be.

As a patient of this service and a final year university student with diagnosed ADHD I have been in treatment with them since February 2022. Up to November 2022 I was happy with the service but following a possible heart issue, I ceased medication awaiting heart scans. Following successful completion of these scans I was hopeful to return to medication which my Dr. recognised as the most effective treatment for my ADHD. I have made so so many attempts to get in touch with the service, multiple emails but zero replies, multiple calls over weeks but no one has ever picked up the phone. At this point I may have to walk in to get any progress on treatment I am entitled to as a patient of this service but I shouldn’t need to, with a physical disability that impacts mobility I should not have to travel to my doctor just to be heard in the most critical year of my life. The service should and can do better, I would rather my GP handle my adhd care even if he lacks knowledge in the area because at least he cares enough to see me or return my calls. Are they even a service if they provide none?

So, I am not gonna lie that when I saw the reviews for the centre I was a bit worried because I check reviews from everywhere I go, and I wanted to share my first amazing experience with Nurse Sue of the Adult ADHD clinic about my ADHD medication in the Springwell Centre. She is the most adorable, kind and comforting healthcare professional I ever met since I live in UK. We can see from her way to be, that she loves her job and helping people. I haven't met anyone else yet from the clinic, so for now I can only rate nurse Sue and I hope you will have the pleasure have her too.

Isadly have to agree with the poor comments made here. I should have realised it was not a good sign when they sent out an appointment for my son but there was no appointment on the actual day. This then follows with my son's consultation where after 15 mins the Dr. who sees my son feels he does not need the medication. After consultation he feels my son should have a heart scan which we carry out on the same day. Then when we ask our GP for his medication they say they have no record of his medication after continuously calling and noone picking up apparently my son getsmedication through the post yet the GP is saying no he cant jave them. This is a diabolical service!
