I have been a patient of the Varney Practice now for over 30 years. Recently, I booked to have soft tissue massages with Aggie on a troublesome knee area. After 3 sessions I can definitely feel the pain and tightness has reduced significantly. I would recommend Aggie for a massage. So much so, I am keeping a monthly appointment from now on.
I first visited Steve when I was about 15 for my shoulder stiffness due to posture. Over the years I have seen a few members of the team, which are all highly skilled.After I had a bad accident, my auntie ( a patient) recommended me to visit the practice and it has made a huge difference . I am in my late 30’s and could hardly bend down due to a back injury. I completed a course of sessions last year and we have gradually managed to improve my back. The knowledge, passion and care that Steve Varney an his team provide is absolutely first class. Their approach, expertise and treatment nearly always ensure a positive outcome. They are honest in their opinions and there is no treating patients for the sake of it. They will advise what the best way forward is outside of their remit if required. They have always resolved the various issues I have have had and also for many friends who had lost faith in the treatment they were receiving elsewhere. The service is friendly, honest, efficient and great value.
We both have been using the Varney Practice for the years. My partner, Vanessa, has more recently had RA and has been going regularly for complementary treatment from Kristy, the physiotherapist. The treatment has been excellent and effective and alongside that, her supportive manner and understanding has made it a really positive experience. I had an excellent experience with my physiotherapist during my visit for carpal tunnel syndrome. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist was welcoming and professional, making me feel at ease. Jonathan, the physiotherapist took the time to thoroughly assess my condition and explain what the most effective treatment plan was. He explained it in a way that was easy to understand and finally after nearly 2 years of waiting, I felt at last here was a knowledgeable person being clear and direct. Thank you very much. What a practice! I have injections and it's saved me hours and hours on the NHS alternative just to book an appointment and get the absolute best. Johnny Wride is a master at his art. Kristina is a top physio. Steve Varney is the most practical leader you'll meet. Ever. This practice is miles ahead of your average physio.
Both Mira and Christina were super helpful and put my father in law at ease when he visited them for physio after he’d been hit by a car. Mira was really welcoming and helped him with booking his appointments and providing paperwork for his insurance. Christina gave him confidence to get out and about again and the exercises she gave him really kick started his recovery whilst he waited for nhs physio. Can’t recommend them enough!
I have been visiting the varney practice for the last 4 or 5 years. I initially had very bad headaches and Johnny’s technique with needles using IMS has cured my problem so no more headache tablets for me. I have also been treated by Cristina if Johnny is unavailable and she too is very good as is Lucas I have also been treated for bulging discs and various other issues The ladies on reception Paula and Mira are always polite and friendly even when they are under pressure when it’s busy I have recommended many friends over the years and everyone has found them to be very very good. I've been treated at Varney for several years to manage long term back pain caused by herniated discs with IMS and Interferential Therapy. Both Steve and Jonny are experts in IMS and I wouldn't go anywhere else for this specific treatment. Managing acute pain can be quite draining emotionally too but the team are spot on in their care. I couldn't recommend Varney Physio highly enough and continue to refer my contacts to them.
