I wouldn’t even waste your time with oxleas, after having been formally diagnosed with psychosis by an experienced psychiatrist at the priory I was then referred to oxleas - to which I was told by a therapist there that my diagnosis may just be ‘heightened anxiety’ which quite frankly was an insult considering everything I went through behind closed doors. I have been dismissed countless times regarding other concerns besides psychosis with my mental health, I kept being told ‘what if you don’t find the answers’ it seems to me that oxleas staff are not experienced enough or even care enough to help you find the answers to things that affect your day to day life even if you tell them these problems have been present since childhood and quite honestly I really think they just don’t believe you. Natasha & dr carter should respectfully think about getting new jobs, I have truthfully felt let down and dismissed by them both. As a mental health service dealing with real problems in real people’s lives & having such disregard and lack of empathy this whole service needs reevaluating, I have discharged myself from the service. You should be ashamed.

I am happy with the service in terms of one to one and therapy but still haven't seen a doctor about ADHD for the past 5 years

I feel completely let down by Oxleas NHS Trust's ADHD service. After finally getting diagnosed and starting medication that was genuinely helping, they discharged me due to appointment issues that were their fault. Instead of taking responsibility, they blamed me and now I’ve been left with no support, no medication, and no help at all... I’ve been told I’ll have to wait over a year and a half just to rejoin the service. In the meantime, my ADHD is affecting every part of my life my mental health, my work, and my relationships. I was finally starting to feel a little bit better, like I had a chance to manage things, and they took that away without a second thought. There’s no compassion, no flexibility, and no understanding of how hard it is to navigate this system when you have ADHD. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. It’s made everything worse, and I feel completely abandoned...

Disgraceful service from the second referral was made. The ‘duty manager’ Lawrence even stated “if you are suicidal or feel like self harming then you will go further down on our list, because why are we going to help someone that doesn’t want to be here?” Considering they are supposed to be mental health professionals, I think it’s a disgrace that this is what the attitude of the nhs mental health service has become!

Useless! No care plan given, 5 appointments, 5 different doctors (I spent 99% of my time repeating the same thing as every appointment was like the first), wrongly diagnosed!, 5 different lots of pills chucked at me (all made me worse, as the 11 lots I've tried before throught life didn't work, so I know pills don't work for me) but no one listened, no counseling offered (I have C PTSD) Confirmed many times before, then chucked back to my doctor! I'm worse now after a year of being with them than ever before. No wonder I'm suicidal. Would have just been better off hanging myself!

I think my review got taken down so im reposting. My experience of 1 staff member was really bad. On reporting my concerns they weren’t properly looked into and the managers only real concern was to for cover for the staff member. A chain of errors including some truly shocking ones passed off as a simple mistake. The care of me as the patient is the absolute last concern if a concern at all. There are good staff at this agency but the bad experiences I’ve had far outweigh the good. if you know someone there please look out for them and make it your business to know what is going on

Lack of communication. Services will go out of their way to twist your words when they create an issue. A previously positive experience tarnished after waiting 3 months to address issues with the services that work out of here. NHS is a shambles, falling apart from the inside with the problems of the services placed on to the shoulders of clientle who already suffer with mental health issues. It's a joke but I guess that matches the rest of my life.

Horrendous service. They LOST forms and records. We waited 18 months from initial interview to get any communication despite several emails phonecalls and letters. Then finally after another interview told that we do not meet the criteria for the adapt team. We did 18 months ago but don't now?? So my son will now fester in his mould ridden bedroom, plagued with negative and self sabotaging thoughts ,unable to take care of his personal hygeine. He is already covered in sores but won't see a doctor. HE won't eat without someone bringing him food and basically forcing him to eat because he doesn't want to live as there is no point. Thanks Adapt team for completing undermining all the effort and strength it took to make the first step and actually venture out of the house with support and encouragement. You were our last hope but you didn't listen and made assumptions that have had a detrimental affect.

This review is solely about my experiences with the Crisis Line. If you want to experience a crisis, phone the Crisis Line and you will get one. And here was me thinking that they might help to de-escalate my crises. There is a culture of dismissiveness, passive aggression, surliness and truculence. On one occasion I was told to 'take it up with the Government'. Another charmer said to me "Well who's the one with the mental illness"...... When I get better I am going to look in to what it takes to become one of these operators and put them out of a job. It really is shamefully bad. They must do something to make this crisis line fit for purpose. As one reviewer said "Thank God for the Samaritans".
