Most annoying experience I have faced here .. It’s been more then 2 weeks I had done my blood reports and was waiting for the results.. I called this Monday for the test results and receptionist said “ we have received the result on Friday but waiting for the doctors comments.. On Wednesday same story and on Friday she said you will see your results Saturday Morning so far received nothing.. I said let’s not wait for the doctors comments and you send me the reports as I am on a medication and I need to understand that should I still continue or we need to change..totally no response and disappointed

Love this surgery, just like the old days, call up and get an appointment within an hour or so. Doctors are also really good and actually listen to you! So glad we moved here.

Don't often do reviews.. old school doctors! I've been here 6 weeks max. I can already tell (from previous experience in other surgerys) that this place is really well run, and has people who genuinely care. When you get a doctor call you at 7pm in the evening in following something up, then think this tells you all you need to know. Walked into the surgery the other day, young fella there, working hard, having the time to listen to whoever called him.. I get nothing but Good vibes from this place. Thank you!

I have been with this surgery for many years. They haven’t always got it right BUT, they have listened to their patients suggestions and changed things. The appointment service is outstanding, if you ring at 8am or 2pm you can get a same day appointment. The doctors are outstanding, go above and beyond to see or contact their patients. Well done you deserve so much credit.

Rude receptionist. Should be more professional when dealing with people calls and remember some patients may have Brain fog or other chronic illnesses. It would be nice to think that some one on this job would have the capacity to to be kind and professional not rude and bullying, especially when you may be dealing with someone with additional needs. Perhaps staff training is needed on common decency & open mindedness to each individual.

Changed doctors for a reason. They have no care or regard for mental health. Kept getting brushed off by the doctor when I asked for a medication review because they hadn’t been reviewed in almost 10 years. I called one time having a crisis, told the receptionist that I need help because I thought I was going to kill myself and her response was “the mental health lady isn’t in until Tuesday” (no worries I’ll just hold off until then) Been at this practice my whole life (25 years) and have absolutely nothing positive to say.

I felt compelled to write a review when I saw how many negative reviews there were for Derry Downs surgery. I have always been able to get an appointment when needed and I have always found the reception staff helpful. Yes, sometimes you have to wait in a queue on the phone and I haven't always been able to get a non-urgent appointment straight away - but what doctors surgery isn't understaffed these days?! I Always get the help I need and I have Always found Dr Bindra kind, understanding and helpful and he has always called me when I've emailed or telephoned to ask for help for myself or my children, and whenever I've needed help urgently somebody has always been able to see or speak to me. I highly recommend Derry Downs surgery.

Every time you call and highlight no return calls or actions not being actioned, the staff refer to their experiences with their doctors are the same but as a patient calling about my own queries, I do not want to hear about the staff's doctor issues and that i should just except it's that way for everyone everywhere and that's ok when it just isn't ok. The blame of human error is used far too much that there's an issue in that itself! Finally, fed up of being told to email by reception staff to then receive a text from the dr/surgery to tell me I shouldn't be emailing....tell the staff that then.

Good when you can get to see a doctor. When you phone to book an appointment 2 weeks in advance they say that "all appointments are blocked until the morning of the appointment" BUT when you phone for a same day appointment you are told they are booked up for several weeks in advance. It seems like the receptionists view patients as an inconvenience which interfere with the smooth running of the surgery.
