I've only been registered at this surgery for a few weeks, and I must say it's a brilliant surgery. The nurse, Giantee Daby, is fantastic; she should receive an award for going above and beyond for me today. I love this surgery and ST George's Wellbeing Hub. It's a super medical centre with CT scan MRI etc etc
I hope this is read as a productive and constructive criticism, and not spiteful in any way. The staff and doctors are, overall, nice - I've been seeing Dr O'Moore and his team for a decade and I like them. I'm fond of the GPs, generally, and they are always empathetic and kind whilst up against tough working conditions. Most of the receptionist are helpful and well-mannered, but there are a couple that are condescending and impatient. It's really obvious who falls into which category here, so I suggest this is discussed internally. Recently, the surgery takes FAR too long to answer the phones (often up to an hour, I have many receipts to prove this). It's genuinely not good enough. For the most part people are likely calling during school runs / work commutes etc when the lines open, so staying on hold during this or awaiting a call back for such a long time is genuinely problematic for both the surgery and patients. Even when calling during the day it's the same thing. I mentioned this back in October and was told it was going to be better as they were 'finding their feet in the new building' - however I tried calling today (11am on a Tuesday) and I've already been on hold for 20 minutes being caller 'number 1' the whole time. It needs improvement, urgently. To be clear, I am not criticising the staff as I understand the issue is likely systemic and the staff must feel a lot of pressure. I don't know what the solution is as I do not work there, but it needs attention and to be rectified sooner rather than later. Waiting times on the phone should be no longer than 5 minutes, max. Like the staff at the GP office we ALL have a to work and deal with life outside of the holding times, and the chances are, whilst dealing with all of this the caller or a caller's loved one is likely unwell. It's terrible and needs urgent attention. Many thanks, I hope this feedback helps.
Excellent surgery. Caring and efficient and took the marvellous initiative to move into the brand new Health& Wellness Hub in the old airfield area near Hornchurch Country Park. All sorts of new diagnostic gizmo there and attractive new building. They are overworked as typical of our NHS but they still manage a good service and reasonably timed appointments. Always been good to me.
Staff don’t really communicate with eachother, lovely and helpful receptionist called Anita but can’t say the same for others. Had been booked in last Thursday for an appointment for today, called and was told I wasn’t booked in. The receptionist also seems like she’s constantly trying to win an argument/fight with you, abit strange. Other than that Dr o’moore himself is a lovely doctor and Sarah the nurse too.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to Sarah at the reception, her approach has been extremely kind and made sure I was seen soon as possible. And a big thank you to Stella, again a fantastic Nurse, very professional and caring and made sure all my medical requirements were met. Fantastic sugery, level of care is truly Amazing !!
Stella, Jackie and Anita, thank you for looking after me during a difficult pandemic when you must be so pressured yourselves. Always the ultimate in professionalism which is not appreciated by some. Protect the NHS and value our staff or we will lose them. Thank you.
appointment was at 5:50. I was called by a lady at reception to ask if I could change my appointment on same day to 5:20. I assured her that I finished at 5 so I may be able to get there for just after 5:20 she said ‘no just stick to your time’ so I said ok. I arrived at 5:30 and told them that I was waiting. She rudely said ‘take a seat’ as though she wasn’t really bothered that I was here and early for my appointment. It got to 5:50 and there were still 2 people before me to be seen. I was eventually seen at 6:20 when I had been waiting for this for a long time. I then said ‘what time do you call this’ as a joke. They didn’t find it very funny. So I said ‘you won’t see people if there 5 mins late for there appointments but you leave me and other people waiting for over 30 mins to see you. We all have things we need to do but don’t tell patients to not be late if you won’t even let them be seen on there allocated time. I was very disappointed in there attitudes while I was waiting too. Very unfriendly staff.
This surgery (the receptionist and the doctors) are second to none. Very attentive to your needs and appreciate an individuals concerns. They have always treated me well and do their best to accommodate appointment requests. Highly recommended. Diane
The staff are quite abrupt and the GP not too friendly. I ran out of a repeat prescription. Entirely my own fault and was told on the phone that I'd have to wait 48 hours for one. Not helpful as this was on a Friday. I eventually went into the surgery and they sorted a prescription because I was suffering but I could have been helped in the morning. If I'd accepted what that told me I'd have been left to suffer until Tuesday without medication I take every day. Lastly, not their fault but there is no female GP so if gender is important for delicate matters then this isn't the best surgery to attend.
