  1. Shane Fagan ★★☆☆☆

We’ve had some good experiences here with midwives for our newborn, but sadly giving two stars thanks to midwife Abigail’s delivery of our standout worst experience as new parents so far. She was… - Unhygienic: inspected and cleaned the baby’s backside and then used the same gloved hand to inspect his mouth. Surely not! - Patronising: when we asked about concerning noises, her response was (baby voice) “I’m a healthy newborn and my parents don’t think I should be making any sounds.” The baby ended up getting diagnosed with reflux by a doctor. So, Abigail was not just obnoxious but wrong. - Condescending: when I asked her opinion on probiotics, she immediately lectured me to use academic papers for research on these topics. Alas, she had no useful opinion of her own on this relatively common medicine. - Antagonising: she was bizarrely combative and completely insensitive with my wife about a post-birth complication she was experiencing. Abigail’s advice also directly conflicted that of the (top) obstetrician treating my wife. - Late: unique to our experience at this site, Abigail was 30+mins late to see us. I wish better luck to other parents out there!
