Referred to BHM via my doctor, the waiting list was not long at all, a matter of weeks and I’d had two phone calls with a therapist, and put on an online CBT course, with a supporter who checks in regularly. Obviously this isn’t a quick fix, but the support and help has been appreciated and a positive experience.

Very very poor service. I had a a severe mental breakdown , referred to this place. All on the phone, no face to face which is unforgivable in any care setting. Patronising counselling. What exactly do they do for their enormous NHS salary?

Have been on their waiting list for over 12 months and still was told I'll need to wait for another "few months." Yesterday I received an email from them which said they tried to contact me via phone but I did not answer. I DID NOT GET THAT CALL. I called them back and the first receptionist was extremely rude. She asked me who I am, which was a bizzarre question in this context. When I told her my name, she dismissively replied, "I'm going to need more than that--I need your DOB and NHS number." Hello? most normal people working on your job would just ask for the DOB right away! Then when I tried to explain my situation to her, she got very impatient and put me on hold without telling me she was about to do that. When another person (who refused to tell me her full name) picked up the phone, she insisted that there was a problem with my phone plan not being able to accept private lines which was why they couldn't reach me via phone. But my GP called me yesterday, only 2 hours before they emailed me, on a private line and there was absolutely no problem! I still have not received any care from this facility and I'm already very frustrated with it and I'm losing hope in NHS mental health service altogether.

Took 3 years to speak to someone. Had 3 different people during my 6 months. Ended up with a woman who told me my mental health wasn't getting better quickly enough and I would be taken off the service. Terrible service, non-caring and patronising.

My doctor gave me this number to call because I'm stressed, I'm even more stressed now as they never answer the phone, I've been calling for 3 days, even watched a whole 2 hour film while waiting on hold.

Would give zero stars if I could. Was on the waiting list for quite a while. They were quick to dismiss me, get me off the waiting list, when they tried to call me once to book an appointment and didn't get through. To their credit, they then put be back on the list when I complained. After a couple of sessions with a therapist, I was told she wouldn't be able to help me, that I needed to speak to someone else and was put on another waiting list. An appointment was scheduled and they didn't call. Then they had the audacity to say I missed the appointment. Despite me emailing them to complain that I wasn't called, I was told to get in touch with my GP, rebook and go through the process again. They actually lied and said they tried to call at the time, and then messaged me to rebook. I asked for proof, evidence they'd called me. Of course, nothing was provided. I received nothing and was then made to feel I'd missed the appointment and that I was in the wrong. The previous phone calls I'd had with them weren't great either. They were late, were blaming new technology. There were always problems. It's a diabolical service from people who don't care. Dealing with this company is actually making matters worse.

I was on the waiting list for this place for around 8 months. Definitely not worth it. The therapists are kind but they don’t seem to know what they’re doing if I’m being honest. They tend to ramble on and on about stories and experiences yet offer no practical methods to solve problems you have. Regarding my case, I suffer from anxiety and was told to “combat the negative thoughts and reframe my thinking” yet was offered no advice on how to actually do it? Waste of time.

Extremely poor service. Avoid at all cost. Unkind and cold therapists, poor communication, treated horribly. Left me feeling unworthy of help after being the victim of violence, contributing to further harm. I repeat avoid at all cost. Run like a business without care for patients.

This is a terrible service for people suffering with acute anxiety. After having my ten sessions I felt in no better place. Called to re-refer myself regarding anxiety and was told to call my GP or fund myself privately (both of which are not possible in my current state). I had to end the call as the MANAGER made me feel 1000x more anxious than at the start of the call, and really couldn’t offer me any useful advice. I’m still highly stressed about the situation. The receptionist seemed relatively caring, however. Perhaps a promotion for her?
