I have been receiving therapy here for about 8 months now and it has been going amazingly and as someone who has been in and out of mental health services for years it has been refreshing to have such a positive experience, however my therapist has been missing for three weeks and no one seems to want to give me any information or seem too worried about where their own employee is. 3 weeks ago I showed up for my session as I was told, which takes me an hour and half to get to, they just told me they weren’t able to get ahold of him and said “I’m very sorry but there’s nothing we can do” and I was ushered to leave out the door, I told them to contact me if they hear anything and they haven’t, I call every week to check if they have heard anything as I truly am worried and have no way of contacting my therapist directly myself. Unfortunately they tell me the same thing every time and don’t seem to have any interest in rescheduling me with maybe someone else even though I was going to be receiving more sessions with my original therapist. These appointments are seriously important for my mental health and I’m concerned at the lack of care and communication here, I am personally really worried for my therapist. I never leave reviews and I’m disheartened it’s so negative because the sessions I was receiving here have been so positive on my wellbeing

We had been to the GP with our son as he is struggling with adjustment and bereavement. The tone of voice used by the member of staff answering the phone sounded like he was so bored! We had been incorrectly advised by the GP and you can’t self refer a 10 year old. There’s a way of saying it though and the lack of empathy and sympathy given the trauma we had just experienced that morning was disgusting. I am not going to bother trying to go through CAMHS as I was able to find another option rather than paying £55 a session at a centre where the staff just can’t be bothered.

My daughter finished a course of counselling at the what centre today, after experiencing mental health difficulties after lockdown. I can honestly say the difference in her wellbeing really is dramatic, she is like a different child and we feel massively relieved as a family after a horribly stressful time. The waiting times are excellent given the current climate and the staff are lovely. I honestly can't thank my child's counsellor enough. This is an excellent local service and really so needed at the moment.

Been on the waiting list for a while. Received a call last week but missed it. I called back and a receptionist answered. I said I received a call yesterday and she said ‘okay and who are you’ I said excuse me. She chuckled and said well I don’t know who you are. Firstly there are many ways to ask who I am as simple as ‘who’s speaking’ secondly considering the service the company provides you’d think they would be more considerate about how they speak to people. I still have not received a call back and honestly wouldn’t want to be a part of their therapy after that interaction.

My experience of counselling from The What? Centre, with counsellor Jane, has helped me to help my mental health greatly. I am able to manage my mental health so much better, I definitely feel that my mental health has improved, which I am very thankful for. Counselling from The What? Centre went well for me. Thank you very much for all your help!

the service was amazing, my therapist was a lovely lady and she helped me a lot. she always said that counseling only works if you and your counselor click, and i think that's what made it so great. I can't thank you enough Jane, i hope to catch up with you soon.

Terrible awful service, I cannot stress how passive aggressive staff can be when you dare to raise a legitimate complaint about concerns I had with the service, I am now escalating my complaint after being threatened with legal action if I say something they don’t like?! How can anyone trust to send their children here? When it is being managed in such a hostile, rude, threatening way?
