   I'm a parent of a service user and have always been very happy with the care that my daughter has had over the years but it pains me to say you know "it's just a job" my daughter was taken seriously ill at the beginning of December last year, she was on life support and had numerous operations, blood transfusions and been "touch and go" for a long time. She is now having rehabilitation in a local nursing home and not one member of staff has visited or made contact. My daughter is depressed and in pain a lot of the time and visitors break up her day. A gesture was made when she was ill in hospital with gifts and a card, but no attempt to visit when she is vertually on the doorstep. I've seen staff shopping near by and it hurts to know that she's not worthy of a friendly face. I know she misses "friends" and I say that meaning staff as she refers to them as that. I have nothing else I can say as I know people have their own lives to lead but to go into this profession means to care about their service users, inside and outside of work.
