Horrific and scary man shouting weird things through the mic at 1AM. Sounds like a demonic ritual. Speaking for myself and others who lives at wharf street - we’re trying to sleep.

Edit: yet again, totally breaking local noise pollution regulations. This time, worse than ever. Tonight, 13-14th Sep, 2025, they had a 'performance' that involved a guy SCREAMING AND SHOUTING into a mic for almost an hour, as if he was in Dante's Inferno (ie, the 9 circles of hell) and STILL HASN'T FINISHED at 01.25am. At 00.38am, they INCREASED the volume. I mean, who does that?? I actually thought it was a festival locally that had overrun, but nope. Apologies for the attached video being lopsided - I couldn't be bothered to right it as it's the sound that's important. And as it is, I only realised after that I had my hand over my phones mic, which shows how loud it was to still be audible when muffled, and at this distance. Keep in mind, I'm about 600m away on the other side of the river (and zoomed in too). I can't use bad language here, but I am in my head. With prolific curses sent their way! Let them experience hell in the afterlife as they put us through it in the present! Lewisham council doesn't have an actual noise pollution team so there was nothing to be done about it but sit with my daughter, who they'd woken up, and try to convince her the guy wasn't in pain or dying. This is what happens when rich people are allowed to do as they please as if nobody else in the world matters. And they are decidedly rich, and inconsiderate of the THOUSANDS of families along the river who have to put up with their arrogant 'events'. Original review: The venue space is nice and unusual along the river front - yada yada. For a business advertising as a 'theatre' venue, (keeping in mind that it's actually their HOME), they sure do 'act' like a day-long night club at times and don't give a damn about anybody but themselves. It's beyond time they had consideration for the many local residents that would happily support them as a QUIET theatre/comedy/drag-storytelling/orchestral/acoustic music venue if they stopped with the amplified music whereby we can hear every word sung and FEEL every drumbeat. But as a resident on the OTHER side of the river, I seemingly cannot complain loudly enough about the noise they make in order to be heard over it, when it is regularly played at as-loud-as-festival volumes! When one lives fully 600m away and can hear the music OVER ones own tv in ones own apartment with all doors and windows closed, you know they're being revoltingly inconsiderate of the thousands of local residents - especially the many of us that work from home or work nights. Formal complaints were made to the company, noise complaint teams have been out to them, with their events typically starting at lunchtime and continuing through to midnight (or later), often on both days of the weekend AND through the week - and now, additionally, they're offering firework displays for boat tours. Their events had been quieter this year - but now they've reverted to type.

The venue is very nice with a great view of the river. There’s a small bar and a couple of tables where you can have a drink while you’re waiting for the performance to start. It would be a nice to hand out some blankets when it’s colder outside which of course would go back to the venue at the end of the show. Access to nicer toilets would be lovely but otherwise, a great place to be.

Great performances. But from my seat I hat a spot light in my face nearly the whole show and the speakers were so close that I needed to put in ear plugs. Much better audio and lighting design required in my opinion

When there are festivals, the garden is used for classical music, drama and cabaret. There is huge metal gate to enter into the house. Beautiful setting with Docklands in the background. At the twilight it's amazing! We listened to some kora music performed by Seckou Keita this evening. He has his own style of playing the kora beautifully!

How nice of the folks to let us into their splendid home. I was expecting a museum but instead we got someones private abode. Wish I had asked how they came to live in it. Anyway, it has been sympathetically renovated and the Thames fronted garden is not something you see everyday in London. My boys loved the hammock. What an amazing place and generous of them to let us tramp around it, mouths wide open.

If you manage to find your way into this magical space - dont hesitate! We spent an afternoon here thanks to the @NestCollective. This is one good reason to love London!
