My son had his first flying lesson today and had an absolutely fantastic time. Jim was brilliant from the start — he took the time to introduce himself, explain everything clearly, and really put my son at ease. Before the flight, Jim went through all the pre-flight checks and explained how air traffic control works. The flight was nice and long, and incredibly hands-on — my son flew the plane from just after takeoff until just before landing! It’s confirmed for him that he wants to be a pilot. We would 100% recommend Jim and Mersey Flight to anyone considering a flying lesson or looking to take the first step toward aviation. Thank you so much!

Having been to 2 previous schools, I am very happy I found merseyflight to complete my PPL with, Merseyflight is a very warm welcoming school with amazing friendly staff, the professionalism shown here is second to non, very organised and in depth with teaching, they genuinely want their students to progress, my instructor Lewis Davies is a fantastic instructor and I highly recommend him from ground school to flying lessons, I can only imagine the other instructor’s are the same as well! I will always recommend this school to anyone who is interested in learning how to fly. 10/10

Had a trial flying lesson as a birthday gift from my son. Wow, what a fantastic experience. I was amazed at how much control of the aircraft I was allowed. My instructor Stuart was brilliant making it very easy, explaining everything from start to finish. I would highly recommend Merseyflight Air Training School for anyone wishing to learn how to pilot an aircraft, or like me just “having a go”. Definitely an experience of a lifetime.

Had a flight experience here last weekend. I have been wanting to do this for absolutely ages so I was really excited and my partner booked it for me for my birthday. The guy who took me was friendly and really nice and loved the whole thing, my only feedback is that my time actually flying the plane was really minimal, less than 5 minutes I'd say, I specifically booked the extended lesson for more time in the air. I'm not sure if the lack of control given to me was due to the weather conditions or what, I'd read the pre flight experience book and thought I would get chance to try out a number of things but I basically just got to hold the plane steady for my time in control, but that was it. Although I loved the whole being in the plane, it was really good, my expectation from the book I read and what actually happened didn't seem to match up. It has confirmed its something I love but its made me want to try another flight experience elsewhere where I genuinely would get to fly the plane for 50% of the time like I was told at the start of the experience I would be doing. All in all, great experience but just wish I had more chance actually learning more rather than sitting and being flown.

A great flight school with a friendly and supportive team of instructors. Great curriculum based system to keep track of where you are up to. The fleet is impressive and well maintained. The airport is really accommodating and supportive for trainee pilot's. If your thinking of training I would definitely recommend Merseyflight.

Started flying with these guys late last summer and enjoying every minute of it. The instructors are great and take their time to explain each exercise whilst building your confidence in flying. All the aircraft are very well maintained and your safety is paramount at Merseyflight. It’s a pleasure to fly with these guys, I only wish I could spend more time flying than just thinking about it. If you’re thinking of flying or buying a voucher, stop thinking and get it booked :) EDIT: Merseyflight has now moved to Hawarden airport which offers a step up in facilities, the building and office are nice and best of all onsite cafe/restaurant. Whilst Hawarden has all the benefits of a full ATC but much quieter than Liverpool which is a real treat not to mention no CAS to get out of first before you can enjoy a lesson. Come visit, come fly you won’t be disappointed!!

Would absolutely recommend Merseyflight for anyone looking for lessons themselves or to give someone a lesson as a gift. I completed my Private Pilot License here and if I had to do it all over again I'd still choose Merseyflight. All the instructors are highly professional, very knowledgeable and have a lot of patience. Their aircraft have been very well maintained and at no cost spared. I took this pic while flying over Llandudno, gaining my final solo hours before my skill test.

Fantastic instructors and a nice place. Most importantly you can get booked in very soon so there aren’t many long waits for your next flight. Would highly recommend!
