I am very grateful for the events put on by the Institute that are, lucky for me, open to the public. I have been to several to date and have enjoyed them all. I am particularly grateful for the help and assistance given to me. Last week I was turned away from the “Seamus Heaney Annual Lecture”. I was locking my bike up outside the lecture theatre and a man sneaked up behind me and told me to move my bike elsewhere. I usually place my bike there (I told him) but he insisted. I decided to go home even after waiting in the cold all afternoon. Obviously, not for the likes of me! (23/11/21)
