We had an absolutely amazing experience at puddle ducks! We learned so much from our instructor, Fleur, and our six month old had the time of his life! The whole family learned so much from just our first lesson, which will be useful in so many ways both in and out of the pool. We are SO looking forward to our next lesson!

I’ve never been to a puddle duck class however use a pool that the classes are run. The pool has a family changing room with lockable doors a toilet, shower etc, it is for ALL customers to use as a family room to get little ones and themselves sorted. The lady from puddle ducks knocked both doors after her rude customers had been continuously banging on them, my partner, who was NAKED had to unlock and peer round the door to tell her we were just getting ready. She replied ‘well there’s people waiting and they’ve left their stuff In here’. He closed the door and we continued to get sorted as quickly as we could. I then opened the doors at the end to find the lady and two of their customers standing directly outside, one (a man) immediately said ‘about time’ in an aggressive tone. I informed the lady I would be making a complaint as we don’t expect as regular paying customers at the venue to be continuously hassled and pressured by them banging on the doors when we have every right to use the facilities. We waited over 10 minutes ourselves to use the facility as that’s just what you have to do, we didn’t bang or get bolshy. Anyway my partner explains that we were getting ready as quickly as possible to which the man states we’ve been 15 minutes. Our 1 year old has to shower and use cream straight after swimming as she has eczema/ sensitive skin as does my partner. The puddle ducks lady continues to agree that her customers are right even when he suggested we could all share the family changing room as it’s an ok size. I wanted to suggested to her that SHE get NAKED herself infront of this old man like we would of had to, shower, use the toilet, bend over NAKED infront of him to pick up her clothes EXACTLY like she was AGREEING we should. Firstly I’m a pregnant lady who is entitled to her privacy, secondly my daughter doesn’t need to be getting changed infront of some unknown aggressive old man, for all we know he’s a pervert and lastly nor does my partner for that matter! Never in the 15 years I’ve been going here have I ever experienced this behaviour, I have friends who take their children there every week, and I have warned them about puddle ducks and the customers that attend. It was flagged on our way out by staff and other puddle duck customers were appalled. We did consider booking on to puddle ducks but I rather not after this experience.

Our little one starting swimming lessons when she was 14w old. Selecting a swim school with fully qualified and experienced coaches was our top priority, after some research we selected Puddle Ducks. Roshene and Donna are highly professional, motivating and caring coaches who know the ability of each child. I know that my little one is completely safe under their training. As a first-time mum I highly recommend Puddle Ducks Chester to any parent who lacks swim-confidence themselves, but wants their child to learn stater-safety and develop into a confident swimmer.
