I have just completed my first financial year with dt. They are so easy to deal with and quick to respond to any queries I have had. The year end process has been efficient and I look forward to working with them again this year.
I am really disappointed with the lack of personal service from D&T. I have used them on and off for 3 companies accounts for multiple years and there is zero added value or care when compared to a company who will file your accounts with zero hassle and with a 3 day turnaround instead of an 8 week turnaround, for which I was quoted was literally 1 day worth of work. So to break that down, I am being asked for almost £3,000 to file a set of accounts that by their own admission takes 1-1.5 days. On top of that, when trying to cancel, I am told that the money the pull on a monthly direct debit (which automatically continues) towards the next year end (which no work has been carried out for), is not refundable. When trying to have a sensible conversation about this, I was just told this is what we do here at D&T group and hide behind terms and conditions. As well as this, my last set of company accounts was filed 1 day late, despite being ready earlier. I was blamed for this for saying I did not approve the accounts to file. But even though I did not approve them, they were still filed just 1 day late, so they have filed them regardless of approval but just done it late so on top of all the other costs I now have a £150 fine I have had to pay. Overall it is just really poor and I would recommending to save the cost.
I had an extremely disappointing experience with D&T. We engaged their services to prepare a business plan for a franchise project, but the final product was riddled with inaccuracies and discrepancies. Key data such as square footage, rental rates, and financial projections were incorrect, despite providing precise information from the outset. When these issues were raised, the response was dismissive, shifting all responsibility to the data provided rather than acknowledging errors in their process. Furthermore, despite multiple follow-ups and feedback provided via easyStorage (who referred us to D&T), no meaningful revisions were made. The lack of a proper review process before delivering the business plan raises serious concerns about their professionalism and attention to detail. For a service marketed as “sound and lender-ready,” the quality fell far short of expectations. When I requested a refund due to the plan’s failure to meet basic standards, they refused outright, citing their “completed process” as justification, despite the product being unusable. I would strongly caution against using D&T for business planning services. They do not take accountability for their mistakes, and their approach to customer service is both unhelpful and inflexible. A frustrating and costly experience.
I had the help of d&t accountants to assist with business planning as well as the securing of finance. Throughout the process Helen went above and beyond to assist me. Even when one lender chose to impose obstacles, Helen was resourceful and had her eye on the bigger picture. The results were impressive and I achieved my end goal. Very happy to give a ✨✨✨✨✨ rating and would recommend d and t.
Terrible company! They lie to you whenever it suits their purpose then tell you you are due them fees even though you have paid them on time every month for years. Then tell you they have historically undercharged you for years. They tried this tact when I informed them I was leaving them as their service was so bad. They are now threatening court action. I welcome this action as I will get an opportunity to point out how underhand and deceitful this company can be. Please avoid this company at all costs if you value you business at all. Carl Reader director refused to even contact me or take my call regarding my issues but puts himself out there as some great business guru and entrepreneur. False advertising is all I can say. I expected more from this company but I know lots of people in my industry who have similar story to mine. We are all talking about this company in my industry now and we are all starting to feel that we should warn everyone about this company now.
Although I have had a couple of issues with D and T in the past (hence four stars here, not 5), I feel that businesses do sometimes get thing wrong and D and T acknowledged this and said they were going to change things around. I don’t have experience of the whole team, but would just like to say that Shivan Vaya, who did my accounts this year restored my faith to a great degree. I had good service and communication and a lot of help with multiple queries. Shivan was usually available on the end of a phone, or if not, got back to me quickly and he clearly has a good understanding of how my business works, and a number of my colleagues who have the same accountant have said the same.
I have been dealing with the team at d&t for a number of years now and I can’t speak highly enough of them. Their business plans are very well thought out for acquiring funding. Being independent they always find a way if it’s possible to get the right deal for my clients.
Honestly, I have worked with D&T for many years. They have always been ready to help and adapt to the needs to the Franchise Networks I have represented. They have been first class, so much so that I have asked then a number of times to Franchise themselves out so that I can utilise their services in the 14 countries we operate in too!
