I was looking for somewhere to get my car MOT done and thought I’d give MSL Mercedes Specialist Centre a try. To be honest, I was in two minds from the start, but after speaking with the owner, I decided against it and I’m glad I trusted my gut. When I rang up, I was given a price, which was fine. But what really unsettled me was the way the conversation went. Before he had even seen my car, the owner started hinting that “these cars often have issues” and that mine may not pass. That immediately made me lose confidence. How can someone say that without even checking the car first? I’ve owned my Mercedes for years. It’s well looked after, always serviced by Mercedes themselves, and only genuine parts are ever used. I know my car, and I know there’s nothing wrong with it. So when someone suggests otherwise before even laying eyes on it, it sets alarm bells ringing. The impression I was left with was that if I had gone ahead with the MOT there, my car could easily have been failed on something minor or unnecessary, just so I’d have to pay more for extra work in their workshop. Maybe I’m being overly cautious, but that’s genuinely how it came across. Once that seed of doubt is planted, it’s very hard to ignore. In the end, I took my car elsewhere for the MOT and, as expected, it passed with no problems at all. That just reinforced my decision and confirmed that my instincts were right. For me, trust and transparency are the most important things when it comes to car servicing and MOTs. I don’t mind paying a fair price, but I want to feel confident that my car is in honest hands. Sadly, I didn’t get that feeling here. If anything, the experience left me more wary.
My side mirror was broken and I was recommended to visit MSL for the repair. The mirror and side plate cost me over £100 as it was from Mercedes. Labour cost me £48 which I think is quite expensive for fixing on a side mirror, however, I can’t complain too much as it was completed to a high standard. A special mention to Sharon who was extremely polite and explained all costs to me. If you drive a Mercedes, then this is the best garage to take your car to.

Diagnosed and fixed my EML light in quick time. They're very busy, so need to book in advance. Lost one star, as I asked them to check fault with lock when dropping the car off, and they totally forgot, meaning I have to book back in
