My English bulldog always comes here whenever we go away. He absolutely loves it and cries to get in when we arrive because he’s so excited. He’s very well looked after and we’ve never had a problem! Thank you to you all xx

This kennels is absolutely DISGUSTING!!! Horrible and rude women with extremely bad attitudes. Never ever ever EVER take your dog here! My dog went in healthy and came out like this! His paw is cut open and severely infected! This kennels is under investigation and needs to be shut down immediately. He also cut his ear open. Look at the 1 star reviews and we are all saying exactly the same. They will probably try and reply to this shifting all the blame but there is a devastating pattern at this kennels with dogs cutting open their paws. They tried blaming it on a grass seed. I had to take him the vets immediately and they said his had an extremely bad cut on his paw that was not a grass seed. He came back wet and very very scared. He’s in a really bad way, I’ve never seen him like this before. Please I stress do not take any of your animals to this place. An investigation with the RSPCA is open and they WILL be sued. Absolutely disgusting, I don’t know what they are doing to dogs in this place but it’s not good at all. My dog is on high antibiotics and is in an appalling state. When his paw had been cut open they didn’t even let me go and pick him up that night because it was going to be an inconvenience to other dogs!? I mean what is that all about?? It’s in your own right to go and pick up your own dog and she put the phone down on me and then started making up all these lies saying I was swearing at her. Crazy owners. Disgusting kennels. Horrible staff. If I could give this place a -10 I would. It does NOT even deserve 1 star. I just hope my poor dog is going to be okay. Please I beg everyone to avoid this kennels. They need to be shut down and sooner or later once the investigation is finished this place will never be allowed to be open ever again. Appalling. They deserved to be sued!! My dog went in perfectly healthy and came out a scared little boy who looked as though he had been abused! And I wouldn’t be surprised if he had. disgusting!!!!

When I picked Alfie up I didn't notice him limping! he was very subdued and not his bouncy self. It wasn't untill I lifted him out of the cloth carrier that I could see that his claw had been ripped off. When I phoned stone lodge to ask what had happened they were emediatly on the defensive and suggested he'd done it in his carrier and took no responsibility.

Don't make the mistake of being late. I didn't realise when dropping my dog off that you cant take them between 12 and 4pm. I arrived at 12.10pm. The gate was locked and nobody would answer the phone, I waited 15 minutes but nobody answered or replied, I couldn't wait till 4pm or I'd miss check in for my holiday. On their website it states 'We are open between 9-5 monday to friday for drop off and collection. This is not the case and needs updating. I climbed over a wall at the side, as it was not very high, just so I could ring the doorbell to let them know we were here, this was not the owners house, it was the kennels, it was the front door to the kennels, where you enter. It's only a few feet from the wall and gate. I never entered anywhere else on their property, only the door at the front . A young woman did come and was she mad. You'd have thought I'd committed the crime of the century. She told me in no uncertain terms, they were closed and I was trespassing. She was so rude and argumentative, I did not want to argue with her and told her so, I just wanted to know if they could take my dog or not, I would have been happy to apologise for being out of their hrs but I wasnt given the chance. Maybe she was having a bad day but I wouldn't want her looking after my dog not with that attitude. There are ways of speaking to people without being argumentative, it could have easily been reconciled and if they couldn't take my dog at that time then so be it, unfortunately she wanted an argument, she didn't get one, I simply left, needless to say I wont be going back. I may have made a mistake but when I booked I was not told I had to arrive at a certain time. This young woman told me I was and that I have been told numerous times. That wasnt true, nothing was mentioned when I booked but the previous time, I was asked when I was bringing my dog in and it was early morning 9am and she said that was fine. I remember her mentioning 4pm but I never expected that you can't drop your dog off all afternoon until after 4pm. I often work in the morning so that doesnt work for me. Luckily my son looked after my dog for me, so our holiday went ahead.

We've been using Stone Lodge for over 2 years, since Poppy was a puppy. Poppy is always keen to go in and although she can be a little nervous in general, never shows any anxieties before or after a visit to them. The staff are always welcoming, professional and happy to chat about how her day(s) have been. I feel reassured by the time and effort they have taken to get to know her likes/dislikes. She started with daycare sessions which went so well I felt confident to start full board stays. Her stays as a puppy played a big part in her socialisation. Stone Lodge respond quickly and efficiently to messages, making bookings easy. I struggled to remember their new opening hours but they were always patient when arranging drop off and pick up times. Their updated hours are clearly shown on Google too. I highly recommend Stone Lodge. It means a lot to be able to go out for the day or have a holiday and be able to relax, knowing she's happy and with people who genuinely care. The peace of mind is priceless.
