   Janet is an excellent maths tutor. My daughter was struggling with poor test scores and this led to her feeling a failure at maths. I contacted Janet on a friend’s recommendation and soon enough she began to improve and believe that actually, she was quite good at maths. After 12 months of tutoring, we are now at a point, where we can ease off the weekly sessions but, I will still be calling on Janet in the run up to assessments to iron out those weak spots. Janet supports the weekly session with homework which highlights areas needing more work. Janet is always encouraging and provides a safe space for children to have a go. We tailored the sessions around what she was studying at the time in maths and revision lists given out ahead of assessments. Rhian

   Janet has been a great help assessing any gaps in our child’s learning and has helped to fill those gaps through weekly sessions and homework. She has provided focussed sessions in English and Maths (primary level) and adjusted the sessions to target our specific aims and feedback. Janet has high standards and gently pushes to help reach potential, whilst remaining patient and light hearted. We would recommend Janet either as additional support or to help with entrance exams.

   Following a difficult year in lockdown, my child had missed a lot of mathematical learning. Janet's help for my child was invaluable. She assessed in which areas he needed support and spent the following few weeks going over those topics. Janet then helped and supported him with current maths topics. She helped to prepare him for his end of term exams and was very invested in how he got on. He succeeded in moving up two maths sets. I think Janet was as delighted for him as we were. I would have no hesitation in recommending her services.

   Janet was the perfect tutor for my daughter. She was always patient and managed to keep her engaged and motivated by making the sessions fun. At the same time she maintained high standards expecting effort and concentration during the sessions and expecting any homework that she set to be done. Janet supported my daughter in Maths and English from Yr 6 through to Yr 10 when she started her GCSE courses. I would highly recommend Janet to anyone looking for support if their child is struggling with Maths or English and needs to build confidence and establish some firm foundations.

   Outstanding tutor Our son has been with Janet for almost 18 months in preparation for entrance exams at 11 years, and she has been absolutely outstanding. Most importantly, she is a lovely, friendly lady and he was comfortable with her from the start. She was very astute in assessing on which subject areas he needed to work most. (Janet teaches all the subjects necessary for entrance exams, and is familiar with the various requirements of local independent schools). She has reinforced what he has learned at school and filled in some gaps, and has stretched him to achieve his best without making him feel pushed or stressed in any way. Best of all, Janet has really improved his exam technique and his accuracy in answering questions in a set time. This has helped a lot with school work, which he now rattles off with ease (and without complaining!). Janet is very professional and committed, and goes the extra mile to fit in extra sessions etc as needed. I should recommend her very highly indeed.
