Brilliant! Phillipa is an excellent vet specialising in physio and hydrotherapy. Has given us sound advice and support and genuinely cares for our family member. Very grateful to have her and our dog absolutely loves her sessions!
Dr Phillipa is so knowledgeable, kind, trustworthy and takes time to listen to the whole story. Phillipa has helped us realise that our dog is not badly behaved, he is in pain that affects his everyday life, and that is affecting his behaviour. We can now pick up on signs that our dog is struggling and we know how to help him. His behaviour has improved because of the knowledge we now have. Phillipa has a plan to help our dog with medication to improve his daily life as best we can. Phillipa being in our life and helping us and our dog is invaluable right now.
In 2023 our labradoodle had major spinal surgery, 12 months later her mobility deteriorated, we couldn't put her through more surgery for her spondylitis and she also has arthritis in her knuckles, so our local vet suggested Active Pets, with Acupuncture and Hydrotherapy, plus home physio exercises we have seen such an improvement in our dogs mobility in just a few months. Vet Philippa has so much knowledge not only about the treatments they do, but about pain relief advice, and cares so much about the pets welfare. We use insurance and the administration of this and making appointments is seamless. I would highly recommend the treatments, practice and staff, So would Lacey as she happily goes on every time.
I have been using Active Pet for the last 4 years both with my Labrador Retriever and Coonhound Cross, both of whom have had complex joint issues. Phillipa has been amazing and has made a huge positive impact on their quality of life in their later years. They are always happy to arrive and trot in for what we refer to as ‘spa day’. I would highly recommend her. Treatments have included hydrotherapy and laser therapy and a little incentivised homework of course.
My wife Karen and I have been recommended to take our Golden Retriever to see Philippa by our orthopaedic vet to have physiotherapy with her because of a very unusual and rare condition he has which Philippa is very knowledgeable of and will be able to help us. We have spoken to her twice. We were anxious and upset but she completely put our minds at rest by explaining to us calmly and what to do up to my appointment and not to worry and she has been so kind and helpful and superbly knowledgeable about his condition. Philippa took so much time to explain to us what our gorgeous boy has and we have every confidence going to visit her. We would have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone who needs to go to Active Pets she also has a lovely receptionist, Hope, who was so kind and helpful also. As We all know when our pets are unwell it is very upsetting but to be able to speak and see someone who is professional, kind and caring is a huge relief. We are 100 per cent confident she will help us and she comes highly recommended from a top orthopaedic surgeon who we have known and trusted for decades.
I love Philippa and all the staff at active Pet almost as much as my dog does, they are friendly, helpful and genuinely caring towards the best needs of my pet. After every visit my dog feels better and more comfortable to move around and the treatment makes a big difference to her overall demeanour. The team at active Pet help make sure my Dogs life is as happy and comfortable as possible. They communicate well with my other vets to make sure both teams are working towards her needs and keeping her healthy as possible.
An excellent service is offered by Philippa, Michelle and the team. They are very experienced and seek to provide solutions that help your dog deal with arthritis (in our case) and have as full and pain free life as possible. We have been taking our now ten year old Flat Coated Retriever Branston to Active Pet for a couple of years now and he is undoubtedly a healthier and happier dog as a consequence. He has acupuncture, laser and radial shock therapy at each visit and he is well chilled with the experience each time. What I particularly like is how closely they work with our own traditional vets....which provides a joined up approach to treatment.
Active Pet have done such a great job at helping my 10 year old Golden Retriever with her arthritis. I have been taking her for laser treatment and in just a few weeks, she has changed from a limping, sleepy, older looking dog to a lively, happy, full of life girl. Great advice and support from Phillipa and the team and a warm welcome whenever we go. Totally recommed getting in touch with them if you have a dog who is slowing down.
Astro has been coming to Active Pet to see Phillipa since August 2017. Back in May he had a collision with another dog and damaged his right hind leg various treatments and rest didn't help and he was still lame. After the very thorough initial consultation, Phillipa decided to treat Astro with laser and Acupuncture. We have had weekly sessions and now we are beginning to see some pleasing results. He is no longer lame and he is walking straight. Astro loves coming to see Phillipa and she is always very welcoming. She always tells me that she is at the end of the phone if I have any questions regarding his exercises or any problems. This week I thought that we had got a set back with Astro and I rang Active Pets for some advice. He was immediately booked in for Phillipa to look at, luckily it was a false alarm but it so nice to know that Active Pets are just a phone call away. I look forward to Phillipa's continued support and treatment with Astro.
