I take my little lad here once a week and he loves it as much as I do. Our usual instructor is, Lucy, who is brilliant. However, when we’ve had to move days/times we’ve had other instructors who have all been great too. I can really see the improvement in my son’s swimming, which is also increasing confidence.

Fantastic swimming lessons, my 2 sons and my daughter have learned to swim here. The small class with the teacher in the pool makes a huge difference compared to the lessons my eldest previously attended where there were so many children in one class and an instructor shouting from the side! They enjoy the lessons at making waves and progressed quickly…. Would definitely recommend!

Such a great family run business. We have been attending since June and all the swimming teachers are fantastic. My son is SEN and I honestly didn’t think he’d ever learn to swim but he has gone from not liking water on his face to being able to swim independently in less than 5 months. I find they are very accommodating and work hard to get you in the sessions that best suit your availability. Cannot recommend them enough.

Making Waves is such a fantastic place to take your child to have swimming lessons! All instructors are brilliant and really friendly! They are very supportive to all the children’s individual needs. Our son has been attending for a few years now, his confidence has flourished!

I have been using Making Waves since 2018 to help my daughter's learn to swim. The pool is always clean and tidy. The lessons are well structured and good value. I am really happy with the confidence they have gained in the water initially with me in the water with them and now with an instructor.

No frills swimming - with no skills management. The lessons are ok, the changing rooms are a work in progress, and the customer service is non existent as everything is done via text. We persisted for longer than would should have due to our busy schedule. Every time I paid I gave the manager the correct number to use and when we arrived for our usual Sunday morning lesson my son's place had been given to someone else and he was devastated. The manager wouldn't speak to me and told an employee to tell me he had sent 4 texts (to the wrong number of course)! No apology and my calls and texts are now being ignored - so odd especially as I saw the manager the week before, on the rare occasion he was onsite, and I even said "see you next week"! I wouldn't recommend just based on the lack of customer service.

Could not recommend highly enough. Stacey is amazing, clearly loves her job and fantastic with children. I can’t understand the poor reviews as my son loves it and so do I! Would not go anywhere else, always clean, tidy and friendly. Recommend my friends to go with their children and they have been extremely impressed. Keep up the good work, you are doing a great job!

My daughter has been swimming with Making Waves for roughly 8 months having started when she was 10 months old. She seems to really love these sessions and absolutely adores her instructor, Lucy. i would definitely recommend to anyone looking to take their baby/toddler for lessons!

Poor changing rooms and can be quite cold when leaving the pool compared to other places. Excellent lessons with a friendly teacher. Poor surroundings - based on an industrial estate. Admin side is nothing short of woeful. If you've paid expect to be asked to pay again and when you question this expect a nasty phone call from the owner/management. Moved my child and she is now flourishing. They have let their excellent teacher down. Shame.

My husband takes our daughter to a swimming class on a Saturday morning at Making Waves and it's fantastic! I go and watch most weeks and my little girl really enjoys it. She's learning new skills but in a fun way and the teacher is lovely. Great facilities and good value for money. I'd thoroughly recommend.
