   Court summons sent to wrong address, police turned up approximately 09 30 arrested me transported me to Doncaster police station where I was detained for about 3 hours before appearing in Doncaster crown court, After viewing all CCTV footage the judge decided there was no case to answer and I was released without charge 20 miles from home, prior this i attempted to contact the investigating officer for almost 4 months with no response, I have never been in trouble nor have a conviction of any sort the whole episode was extremely traumatic, I am also registered disabled and had my partner (who works nights) not been at home I don't know what I would have done thanks so much again lain and Alex for all you did for me.    I contacted Iain Gould when I was unlawfully arrested for breach of bail which included false imprisonment. I found Iain via google and was highly impressed when reading his case reports/blogs. I had no hesitation whatsoever and contacted him straight away. Iain replied very quickly and took the time to call me and go through my case details thoroughly.    My teenage son was unlawfully stopped by Met officers, detained and put in handcuffs because they claimed he was acting suspiciously. We immediately made a written complaint asking for police body worn camera footage as well as the record of the stop and search as none was given to my son at the time. Unbelievably, several weeks later we were informed that there was no record of the stop. Shockingly, Met Officers stopped and handcuffed my son but deemed it acceptable not to record the incident. The police officer who stopped my son only recorded the incident several weeks later after he was informed of our complaint. We believed the stop was not only unlawful but due to my son's race. Our complaint was not upheld by the Met Police but we knew this was not justice. I had heard of Iain Gould over the years through media outlets dealing with victims of police abuse so I decided to send him an email. He responded swiftly, listened and empathised with what my son had been through. He gave us excellent advice and would personally call to give an update on the case. We found his staff professional and very helpful.The whole process before contacting Iain had been very stressful however, once Iain took on our case we felt at ease and believed he and his team would try their hardest to fight our corner. Thankfully, thanks to them the Met Police settled our case with a generous offer. I cannot thank Iain and his team enough, but more importantly it has shown my son that the police are not above the law and there are avenues available to make them accountable. I highly recommend Iain Gould Solicitor as your first contact if you want to take action against the police, they did an excellent job.

   I would very highly recommend Iain. I have used solicitors for police misconduct in the past who either ruined my good case or closed down my case without informing me, after taking years to achieve nothing. On the other hand, within a short time of taking on my complex case, Iain got me exactly the successful result I wanted. I feel like the moment the Police get a letter from Iain they know they have zero chance of winning! Iain works on your case over the weekend, arranges times to speak that are most convenient to you and always tells you exactly how it is. What more could you want?

   When Avon & Somerset Police could not upheld my complaint, I was instructed to seek legal advice from a solicitor. I contacted a solicitor firm which when spoken to the main solicitor he seemed not interested and stated to email him details, so I looked around and came across Iain Gould solicitor. When I called and spoke to him he was willing to listen and gave clear instructions on how he can set out my case. As this was more of a clear cut case where the police knew they was liable. We settled the claim but with Iain’s decades of experience he got me a more then fair amount of settlement then originally offered and as my family member was in the same situation he took on both our cases at the same time and won. I then brought to Iain’s attention a case approaching 5 years ago which in the first instance I instructed another solicitor but after the police denied liability that solicitor was not convincing enough to take the case any further. After obtaining the evidence from that solicitor firm Iain was happy to take on my 5 year old case on. Originally the case was struck out of court due to the time frame but with Iain’s decades of experience, he reassured me that the judge did not interpreted the outcome correctly and upon appealing that verdict we won the appeal and the case was reinstated. Avon & Somerset police denied liability and set out a high defence cost, which Iain’s colleague advised this was a tactic to try to make one think twice. Again we continued with the court proceedings and within a couple months Avon & Somerset admitted liability and settling out of court. Overall I would recommend Iain’s solicitor to anyone who I been treated wrong by the police and have any doubts of bringing a case forward against them. Iain won a total of three cases for me and my family and with his decades of knowledge and experience he could win a case for you if you are in any doubt’s.
