   I was very upset to see that Gareth charged my husband £83 for a £3 resistance on his Marshall amplifier under warranty. I had accompanied my husband and was present at the discussion where Gareth was supposed to inform us if the fault was expensive to repair in which case we would have sent the amp to Marshall for free except if it was the tubes which are not under warranty. Two hours of labor for £40 each seems to be an abuse, which two music stores confirmed to us. It is unfortunate that we were not warned in advance to make the decision.

   I met Gareth because of a recommendation. My Marshall amp was no longer producing sound. As it was still under warranty, I asked Gareth if the fault was something other than the tubes, he should tell me first. The next day he texted me to come and collect my amp. But in fact it was a transistor, the cost of which was £3, which he charged me with £80 for labor (2 hours X 40). Either this guy is incompetent or he cheated, in both cases I recommend you be careful

   Took my old Sound City PA that I had attempted to make into a Hiwatt style amp when the output valves were red plating.
