   extremely unhelpful on the phone. Jumped to false conclusions about what i was actually asking for. Said over the phone it would likely be £1500-£2000 without looking. I rang up a 2nd garage (gearbox specialist)... and they fit me in the next day diagnosed the issue as new gearbox oil and bled the clutch.... works perfect now.

   A massive massive thank you to the gents for getting me back on the road. The failure was bigger than I thought and so they needed to do more work than originally planned but they so graciously managed to squeeze me in and for that I am forever grateful. Very professional, very knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.

   Rang to book in for diagnostics and offered road test on the same day. Sadly, the car behaved during the test so I was left looking stupid. Advised that I needed to let the issue further develop so at least that can tell what type of issue is actually going on. They advised me that previous fluid change (elsewhere) was likely a waste of time. They quoted me the likely charge for most likely fault with my type of gearbox. They effectively turned away the work at this point because they want to know what's going on first rather than potentially waste my money and/or end up with me unhappy. They felt very approachable and honest. They didn't deny that something maybe wrong with the gearbox but they went on what they saw - just annoyed me that the car didn't fault during the road test.

   I've waited a year to post this, as I wanted to do more of a long term review. I've got to say, I literally can't fault these guys. I took my car in as I had a sound that I knew was something wrong with my transmission. They were really friendly and welcoming and were happy to do a test drive there and then to get an idea of what might be wrong. They had a theory and got my car booked in quickly. They completely fixed my gearbox and put a new clutch in (great price for the clutch) while they were at it. Since they worked on my car, the gearbox has been flawless still over a year later. I can't recommend them enough.
