I cannot recommend the firm highly enough but specifically Mark Bardwell. He’s looked after my business for many years and I couldn’t do it without him. Always quick to respond and always helpful. A first class job from a top professional.

He was really knowledgable about every stage of the process and gave us really decent honest advice about the best options for us. They have always been courteous and professional in handling my accounts, as well as providing honest advice in a friendly and relatable manner. I used SMH for my sole trader business for two years. I regret having ever engaged this company. Despite numerous queries and questions being raised on year 1, still my accounts ended up being submitted with mistakes. I know the final responsibility lies with me though as a laymen, I didn't understand until I receive the tax bill. Still they said they'd fix this on year two. That would have been ok but then they tried to charge me 4 times as much! Only backing down when I point out the errors were their fault and still they tried to insinuate "goodwill" when they reduced the bill back to what I'd contractually agreed. Translation, "You've tried to rob me after you made the mistakes and then when you realised you didn't have a leg to stand on, instead of admitting fault they pull out the Goodwill card". Avoid this firm, they're an unprofessional money grabbing outfit that doesn't work for their clients’ interests, merely their own directors pockets! Since I posted this same review elsewhere I had a call from a director admitting no fault, offering no real resolution and asking me to remove it. Thanks to their faults, I wasn’t able to claim any support during COVID and what’s more all they cared about was the “damage my review could do to them”, no care for the damage their mistakes made to me financially. Seriously avoid this firm!
