   As others have said, Pete is a pleasant, chatty man and a competent and conscientious engineer. I contacted him on Sunday and he came out next day to replace a faulty oven heating element. He also cured a noisy fan and gave the double ovens and fittings a much needed deep clean leaving them looking like new and undoubtably extending the life of our aging cooker. He replaced a light bulb and left a spare as well as some cleaning items and good advice to keep the oven looking good and working efficiently. However, the final cost came as a shock with the labour charge being around £100 per hour. Having since read other reviews it seems I could perhaps have negotiated this down but that seems like a strange way to do business. Also, only after he left did we realise that we did not receive an itemised invoice/receipt. In summary, I cannot fault the quality of Pete's work but I would strongly advise establishing the cost before undertaking any work.View less

   It’s hopefully not often you need to repair an oven but you need a proper job, so I was perfectly happy to pay what might be a bit more than the blind punts you can take elsewhere! Mr Swift was extremely polite, capable and skilled and even left our grotty oven looking as good as new, which was a huge bonus! Hopefully we won’t have cause to seek his help again but if we did, or to anyone seeking a quality and congenial repair, I’d not hesitate to recommend Mr Swift.

   Rang Peter at 8 in the morning having had issues with our oven for a week. He booked us in for later that day. Arrived punctually and was very informative about the issue and how to avoid it going forward. Gave lots of details about general oven care and thoroughly cleaned the oven. Great service.

   Rang Peter Friday evening, he said he could come out the following day at 10.00am. He arrived bang on time and replaced the heating element on our oven. He also gave the oven a thorough clean and even told me how to do it myself. Not only that, he gave me some Astonish cleaning paste and a scraping tool and some blades. I would recommend Peter to anyone needing a cooker repair. Proper old school tradesman and a thoroughly lovely bloke to boot !!

   Peter responded to our broken oven within a couple of hours of my call which was fantastic. He replaced the element and cleaned the oven! Unfortunately, once he'd already started the job he informed me it would cost £140 instead of the quoted £90 as he'd been unable to replace the element where the oven was situated and had needed to remove it from it's casing making it a bigger job. As the oven was already out I agreed to pay but wouldn't use again. A £20 element and £120 labour for no more than an hour's work was a rip off! It's a shame because he was efficient, capable and passionate about his work but IMO a quote is a quote and a change in price should be agreed before any work begins.

   Pete was very friendly and professional. He carries dozens of filaments in his van and had the right one for our oven. As well as fixing it, he also gave it a good clean. All done within a couple of hours. Highly recommended!

   My oven packed up midway through cooking dinner, I called Peter and he was out to me first thing next morning. He called when he was on his way, and within an hour of him arriving the oven is as good as new! He also cleaned the oven while he was here, gave advice and left me cleaning products and a scraper so I can do it myself going forward. Really happy, highly recommend!

   Fantastic service from an absolute gentleman who came out on a Saturday at short notice. Sorted our oven and had the defective part to fit right away. Gave some great tips for oven cleaning without chemical products and even left us some materials to help. Professional knowledgeable prompt. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.
