Having grown up around bikes and grown somewhat protective, I’ve always been cautious—and at times sceptical—about who I let work on them. When my Bandit 1200 needed a major rebuild, I didn’t have much choice but to hand it over, and I was incredibly fortunate to be put in touch with Chris at Off-Road Developments. The Bandit was in such poor shape that other mechanics had suggested an engine swap, or even scrapping it altogether. That was never an option for me given its sentimental value. Thanks to Chris, not only was the engine saved, but when I got the bike back—and even now, years later—my 20+ year old anniversary B12 has never run or sounded better. It honestly felt like riding a brand-new machine again. Since then, I’ve trusted Chris with my much-neglected KTM, and once again he’s impressed me. From valve adjustments to countless smaller jobs, his work has been spot on every time. But more than the results, what sets Chris and his business apart is his character. He’s consistently shown himself to be genuine, trustworthy, and all-round decent bloke—qualities that are worth their weight in gold when you’re relying on any professional. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.

I was looking for a local bike repair shop, other than the mainstream companies around my area, as they tend not to specialise in off-road applications (mx bikes, quads etc) I came across this Gent (off-road developments) after giving him a call to get an understanding of the business and what its about, I personally was comfortable in giving my bike over to the "little guy" as it's a young and growing business. The outcome: I was overwhelmed with the craft man ship, and attention to detail he applied to my bike. he even highlighted issues that I myself wasn't aware of and were genuine issues. Not the typical Kwik Fit tyre change that leads into new brakes, exhaust and anything further they can sell you. I highly recommend this currently small business, and have on multiple occasions already referred my friends also. He treats the bike like its his own, and doesn't skimp on his attention to detail, he provided me with the best outcome I could have asked for, at a fair total cost. Thank you.
Absolutely fantastic service by Chris. Would completely recommend him to anyone in South Yorkshire, he solved an issue with my supermoto that had plagued me for the past two years. Top guy too and went the extra mile to make sure the bike came back perfect. 2 stroke genius!!! Highly recommended!
