   ****************** GENUINE REVIEW**************** I would not recommend this company based on my experience. The business is operated by two people, and communication throughout the entire process was extremely poor. After leaving my car with them, I waited almost a month before the owner inspected it. When he finally did, I was told that the issue was “hard to diagnose” and that I would need to “take a gamble” on potential repairs. On the owner’s advice, I proceeded with a flywheel replacement, which he stated would “probably sort the problem.” Unfortunately, it did not. Despite spending £1,700, the car remains in the same condition as when I first brought it in. Even more concerning, after approximately six weeks and having already worked on the flywheel, they were still unable to provide a clear diagnosis. I was then advised that I would likely need a completely new gearbox—again presented as another “gamble,” with no definitive explanation of the actual fault. Communication from the owner, Tariq, was particularly poor, as messages and calls often went unanswered. The only person who communicated reliably was his colleague, Callum, who did his best to respond when available. Overall, the lack of thorough diagnosis, the significant cost without resolution, and the consistently poor communication reflect extremely unprofessional service. I would strongly caution others to consider alternatives in South Yorkshire such as Mr gearbox as I’ve never heard of such with their company. I’ve got proof so if anyone is truly interested pm me

   Our gearbox problem was diagnosed and quoted for by two firms before settling on Sheffield Gearboxes. We went with them for their extensive knowledge and positive attitude towards a successful outcome which they brought about in a timely fashion, and in our case, with a twelve month warranty on parts and labour. Highly Recommended.

   I brought my car in as there was problem with gearbox . My vehicle is a black Mercedes C220 CDI - the problem was that the gearbox was stuck in gear one . I explained this to the mechanic who reassured me that he could fix it . When I left the car I said to the mechanic to keep me updated on how much it would cost to fix and how long it would take . The mechanic kept my car for an entire month , to which I frequently asked how it was going but got no response. After one month of being without my car I went to the garage to get it back or to see if they had been fixed but unfortunately the car was still in the same state it had been when I brought it in . So they did nothing to fix it yet still charged me £500 for doing nothing . This is unacceptable as I feel like I have been scammed and they have wasted a month of my time . I would really appreciate a refund or I will be pursuing this by making a claim against this garage in court.

   Avoid at all cost. Took my car to be diagnosed as to the juddering I was experiencing. I was NOT told this would cost me anything when I called to book it in so this came as a bit of a surprise and I was charged £60 for “diagnostic”. However, they were not able to tell me what was actually wrong with the car and just referred me to the codes on their machine and said I could take pictures of that. Absolutely clueless.

   Took my mercedes a class automatic to this garage and was charged 850 pounds for a ecu and gearbox inspection. The car was still juddering after the work and was done. We Have a 12 month warranty. Phoned the garage up and booked it in for a inspection to find the fault and did not get a phone call so I chased them up . They never looked at the car and just handed the keys back with no dialogue. So 850 pounds down and now to take it somewhere else for a garage to sort it out properly. The owner should be ashamed of conducting business in this way. Never use this garage you have been warned
