My wife and I went here for breakfast a couple of months ago. We had been meaning to go for some time as we had heard good things, especially about its good value. We both got a full breakfast with a side of halloumi. Everything was pretty good. Of note, the bacon was cooked just right but the square sausage was a little dry. The value was great. The breakfast tasted better than another local joint and was £4-5 cheaper. The menu has everything you’d expect with a few Turkish traditional dishes. The service was fine but it seemed very flat in the cafe. There wasn’t much atmosphere.

On 22 October, I was statrting a tour of Scotland with the first stay near Newtongrange. I got as far as the Newtongrange rail station but had no mobil service, no idea how far the hotel was and no way of contacting a Taxi. I stopped into Kaya's and had a great cup of coffee, after talking to one of the staff about my situation, she tried all the local taxi's and none were available due to school (end of day transports). Then I was offered a ride to my hotel by the Cafe. This was a great show of kindness and a warm welcome to Scotland!!! If I ever get back to the area, this wll be my first stop. Cheers......

The type of charming local cafe that is sadly all too rare these days, serving a wonderful mix of traditional Scottish dishes and cafe fair with some authentic turkish options. The food is freshly and lovingly prepared to order delivered quickly and with relish. The prices are surprisingly reasonable given the quality. Staff very warm and welcoming and happy to cater to preferences. Ample seating inside and some charming outside tables give it s real Mediterranean feel in the Costa del nitten. Owner passionate about food and pleasing his customers. Only single downside is having to wait awhile for a table as it is so loved by the local community that it's always busy, which is the biggest green flag for a cafe one can give. Highly recommend.

Coming back from Czech to my home in Selkirk, I needed a good All day breakfast. This seemed to fit the bill. So hete I am, and nothing disappointed. I added cheese chips and this was real cheese with real potato chips. All the breakfast ingredients were quality and perfectly cooked. Coffee was damn good too. The staff made me feel at home, and basically, this place should be on the map for being an exceptional cafe. Flawless.

First visit for a takeaway. Service good, though seemed to be maybe too many staff, tripping over each other. Small mix up with one of my rolls in that only provided a single filling instead of double that was ordered. Shame we only discovered when we got home. Coffee was excellent, though quite small cups, but very tasty. Any negatives were very minor, quality of service and food more than made up. Look forward to trying again.
