I’ve never had a worse experience at a pharmacy. I came in after running out of my prescription and explained clearly that it was an emergency. I showed everything: my doctor’s email, my MYGP app showing the request was pending, and the fact that I had simply finished the medication as prescribed. Instead of helping, the manager with the black glasses accused me of losing it. He even started counting how much he thought I should still have left from two months ago, as if I don’t know how to take my own medication. I want to be fair, so I’ll start with this: the pharmacy itself is good, and the manager later came to my house and personally brought the medication with his own car. That was genuinely appreciated. But the man with the black glasses is the entire problem. My experience with him was unacceptable. I came in after running out of my prescription, explained it was an emergency, and showed proof—my doctor’s email, my MYGP app showing the request was pending, and that I had simply finished the medication as prescribed. Instead of helping, he accused me of losing it and even started calculating what he thought I “should” still have left from two months ago, as if I don’t know how to take my own medication. He then called my GP saying I lost it (completely false) and dismissed everything I said. His attitude was rude, condescending, and totally lacking basic professionalism. The pharmacy is not the issue. The guy with the black glasses is. If not for the manager correcting the situation personally, this would’ve been a disaster.
I’m writing this because my son was treated appallingly at Medco Pharmacy, and I was outside waiting while all of this happened. He had completely run out of his medication, and I know how much he needs it. The situation had me worried already because I struggle with anxiety myself. He went in, explained clearly that it was an emergency, and showed all the proof he had. The manager with the black glasses dismissed everything and even said “no it’s not” when he told him it was urgent. Hearing that was shocking. According to him, it only counts as an emergency if it happens within one hour, which is an irresponsible and ridiculous thing to say to someone who relies on their medication. While my son was inside trying to get help, I was outside getting more and more anxious. The lack of empathy, the accusations, and the refusal to take his situation seriously were completely unacceptable. The manager with the black glasses showed no professionalism and no understanding of how serious this was. After witnessing how poorly this was handled, I would not trust Medco Pharmacy with anyone’s care.

The way he was spoken to left him visibly shaken and stressed. I had to calm him down because the staff provided no reassurance, no solutions, and no basic empathy. We eventually had to leave and go to another pharmacy just to get proper care. Medco Pharmacy showed a complete lack of professionalism and compassion. After witnessing that, I wouldn’t trust them with anyone’s health.

Awful!!! Really badly organised! Waited ages for the rest of my prescription after they repeatedly tried to dispense another persons prescription to me. My advice... go somewhere else!

We got a prescription after visiting te surgery right next to it. And they didn’t have it. So they offered to deliver it to out address, as it was meant to arrive the next day and it didn’t we rang. They lied to us saying they tried to deliver it the Friday night, but we where there all evening/night. They apologise and said it was being delivered ASAP and yet hasn’t arrived. Thank god is not a life or death medication yet, very important.
