   As someone who works away often the freezeing of the membership was one of the main reasons for joining the gym. I requested to freeze before leaving to work away on the website. I come to realise they never frooze the membership and continued to try and charge me, I then requested to cancel and they demand a cancellation fee to close the account. Very disgusting treatment be wary of their predatory business practices.

   I'm on the hunt for a new gym. I've been going to my usual gym for long time. I last visited total fitness around 5 years ago and I didnt think much of it then. They really need to look at their competition in the area. JD gym is half the size, yet it has loads more equipment! I find the layout really strange, the lighting is awful and the free weight area is absolutely shocking. What gym doesn't have full mirror in the weights area. Go to JD and they have loads more benches and better quality equipment. Yes they have a pool. But they need to catch up with everyone else. I was honnest with the sales guy, I just said I really thought they would've made some improvements in 5 years. For the money, this place is not worth it all.

   ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Exceptional Service from Jack at Total Fitness Wigan My daughter Eva and I had an introduction to the gym with Jack, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Jack was incredibly kind, professional, and thorough. He took the time to really understand our goals, showed genuine care in walking us through everything, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and fully informed. It’s rare to come across someone so dedicated and personable. A fantastic ambassador for Total Fitness Wigan — thank you, Jack!

   I visited the club with a free day pass and was extremely impressed! From the moment I walked in, I was warmly welcomed by Dave, who greeted me in such a friendly and professional way that I immediately felt comfortable. Reece then took the time to show me around — he explained everything in great detail and gave me a full tour of the gym and pool. He was incredibly friendly, helpful, and had such a positive attitude throughout. The place itself is very clean, well-maintained, and has a great atmosphere. I’m really happy I decided to become a member, and I’ll definitely be recommending this club to my friends and family! Simona Y

   Partner has a membership and highly recommends, so tried a free day pass. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Changing rooms and general facilities very clean. Plenty of saunas and steam rooms. And a women’s only section which is lovely to see. However, considering the monthly cost the gym cost stretch to providing locks for changing rooms rather having to bring your own or buy theirs. Annoying that the swimming doesn’t haven’t a better system to avoid lane hoggers.

   Tried to join the gym on a no contract option which they offer at a premium of almost 50% per month and was told an additional £20 joining fee was required? I left without joining and decided to email the customer care to ask what the joining fee bought me it was it just money for nothing? Told them I would join on the no contract option if they could either explain or waiver the joining fee particularly as there was no joining fee if I took the contract! The company didn't even bother to reply !!!! If they have explained to my satisfaction the reason for this fee in particular as I was a returning member or waiver the fee I would have reinstated my membership! Instead I have joined elsewhere and Total Fitness have lost Mr as a member over £20 ! There are so many gyms out there in my mind joining fees for which you receive nothing in return are a thing of the past !

   This place is literally my safe haven, Beth on reception (my old PT) goes out of her way to help and encourage me, as I do have disabilities. All the staff are so nice, it feels like a family. I absolutely love the place, feel safe and I'd be lost without it. Donna. X
