Really impressive care from the woman and man who work on the counter - they are very quick, efficient, really want to help and I also saw them being very patient with someone who was in a muddle. I'm sure they get heaps of frustration thrown their way but I think they do a really great job. I've know I'll get a great service there.
Excellent pharmacy. Have gone twice now with my children with suspected ear infections. Have been seen quickly by kind and friendly pharmacists who are able to prescribe antibiotics promptly. I would have had to wait hours at the beacon or the next day to see my GP so grateful for this service
Unhelpful as always! I wasn’t gonna go into detail but as I was reading another recent review I realised I wasn’t the only one treated this way and I won’t probably be the last either unfortunately. I initially went to the pharmacy next door from my work to explain my symptoms (sore painful throat, unbearable ear pain, taste of pus in my mouth, unable to swallow, eat or drink and unable to sleep, everything for 3 days then, tried spray, salt water ibuprofen, strepsils, hot ginger and honey, cold compresses you name it - nothing was working or easing the pain) they apologised as their in-house pharmacist/gp was not there but they advised to go to another pharmacy to be seen as it seems I might need antibiotics. So went to Paydens and firstly I asked them if they have an in-house gp , I appreciate I might have not used the right term but they actually pretended they didn’t know what I meant and told me using a very dismissive tone “the hospital is next door!!” Then I told them I need to be seen for sore throat and she eventually got someone to come and look at me. Consultation felt very rushed, I wasn’t listen to properly, I wasn’t asked any questions, I wasn’t allowed to explain everything. She didn’t even had a good look at the back of my throat as she did not pressed my tongue ( she asked ME to do it??? don’t know if I have done it properly as I did not had a mirror to see what I’m doing or if she can see anything - not to mention that I was told to dispose of the utensil myslef in a bag on the floor) after the superficial examination she said that as I don’t have any white spots she can’t give me anything and that I can call 111 in the evening. It was clear she couldn’t be bothered. I knew that wasn’t right so went immediately to another pharmacy on Eden Park Avenue and OMG what a difference in the service, attitude and treatment! The in-house person that saw me there listen to all the symptoms and how I felt and everything I had to say, then they asked more questions, showed empathy and then took their time to see me properly. It turned out I had white spots at the back of the tonsillitis, that added to all the other symptoms were a sign of a serious infection and a strong course of antibiotics were prescribed to start immediately! For context can I also say I always avoid taking any pills , I don’t even take ibuprofen or paracetamol let alone I would like to take a course of antibiotics but in situations like this when I know something isn’t right I expect to be taken seriously and treated properly hence I certainly won’t be returning to Paydnes as their level of negligence is unacceptable!!
First time I went there it took me 40 minutes wait to get my medications. Second time I brought a private prescription and in the bag was missing a cream. I realised only once I opened it and they were already closed. Next day I tried to call,nobody answered(twice). When I went to the pharmacy, they said that only the medications they actually gave me were entered on the system. When I said that on the prescription I saw the name of the cream with my own eyes,they in fact checked. And it was funny,because the name was in capital letters and three of them couldn't read it. I had to point it out on the paper to show them. Again, long wait, because they are so unorganised. Unbelievable!!
Took 25 minutes to fill a prescription and then they ripped me off by not including the full amount of medication prescribed! Apparently it's common to 'round down' if the box has less than prescribed, but still charge the same amount?!?! They also only gave me half of another prescription!! Completely fraudulent. Won't be returning

If you have small child they have no empathy, we have a girl sick with Scarlet Fever. We had prescription sent for Amoxiline liquid, they was out off stock. There was a smirking woman saying there is nothing they can do. They did have amoxiline in tablets but she say no she can't give that and that's that. We did our research when to AnE and did read on GOV uk that they should give in powder instead. Also at AandE they said yes they should just give you tables. So my husband when to Boots and this very kind woman gave him the tablet s. Just disgusted with Payden Beckenham Pharmacy
They never answer the phone or they often pick the phone up and put it straight back down again. One very rude inconsiderate Pharmacist or Pharmacy Adviser told my 90 year old mother not to phone them to order prescriptions anymore but to use ‘the App’. I’ve worked it out as to which App but my mother who can just about work out how to send a text on her phone was stunned by the response received and the expectations put upon her by this dictatorial Pharmacist ! Customer care score a 1 out of 10 ! Oh and they’ve often got her prescriptions wrong!
I cannot recommend Paydens pharmacy enough. The out of hours duty pharmacist and his assistant helped me today with a really sensitive issue. They were enormously kind, calming and highly competent. Thank you ever so much.
