One Star: Importance of Keeping Paper Receipts In January 2025, I paid for two prescribed medicines at Rowlands Pharmacy (QEH branch). Only one was supplied, as the second item was out of stock, and I was told to wait for a phone call when it arrived. That call never came, despite payment being taken in full. When I returned in December 2025 with a new prescription, the pharmacy (now operating as Lloyds Pharmacy) declined to assist, stating the transaction was too old and that only an original paper receipt (not a photo) would be accepted. This was disappointing, given the delay resulted from the pharmacy’s own follow-up process. The amount involved (£9.90) is minor, but the issue is about service standards, accountability, and reasonable expectations for patients. Ironically, I later found the original paper receipt, highlighting the importance of retaining receipts long-term. Thank you for reading. Happy New Year 2026.

Horrible place. Avoid at all cost if you can. Local staff pretending to be doing something but the actual speed of service is like 2 prescriptions per hour.. There’ve been just few customers but the waiting time was hours. They are not helpful, not really polite, and all you can say is ‘thank you’ and leave otherwise they won’t even move. I wonder how people survive serious conditions during the wait of their medications. I wish I could rate it 0, 1 star is too much. The red hair lady is useless. Pick whoever else to ask a question. She will call you ‘love’ and will do absolutely nothing to provide you with any updates. The only instruction given is to sit and wait as long as it takes. One hour, two, three. No one cares.

Went to collect medication for a 60yr old at 6.00pm and was told that they were only dispensing urgent meds? No choice but to leave with no medication and return to the GP. Waste of time. Appalling service.

I had to wait two hours and there were only 9 numbers before mine. I was late to work. Besides the ladies who did the registration at the counter, every other staff member pretended to be at the back working but were doing nothing but chatting and showing less concern for the needs of people and their time. I quite understand that the job can be stressful, but that does not justify neglecting the needs of others and hiding under the guise that you were all busy just for the books.

AVOID IF YOU CAN GO TO YOUR LOCAL PHARMACY! Absolutely awful experience at this pharmacy. YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO WAIT OVER AN HOUR just to collect a few tablets. Why can’t doctors just give prescriptions so we can go to a different pharmacy instead of being forced to deal with this incompetence? IS ALWAYS VERY BUSY, therefore you'll be waiting a long time. It seems like they're understaffed.

It’s like the Pharmacy is operated by sloths they are so slow. But sloths would be faster. So I was made to wait 3 days for medication, after a 12 hour visit to casualty for medicine which was out of stock. I only found that out by walking back to the Pharmacy 3 days later, as they couldn’t be bothered to ring me to let me know plus they wouldn’t answer their own phone when I try to call them, utterly useless avoid like the plague. It’s a shame you can’t give a place no stars.

Intentionally slow in processing orders. The basic waiting time is an hour. That is insane!!! Is 10 times slower than any other pharmacy. Every single time I visit this place there is problems, People complaining, Having in mind that there are inside the hospital and for that reason they have higher demand than an usual farmacy they should be ready to manage this volume of orders in time. Just you have in mind. I wait an hour only for some basic pils, no preparation or mix need. Only take an deliver what the doctor prescribe!

The place is a joke. At what point is an hour an acceptable wait time when electronic prescriptions have been sent thirty mins prior. They won't even start them till you have queued for twenty mins then to be told it's an hour's wait. Not fit for purpose and needs taking back over by the hospital as Lloyds are pathetic. Edit: six months later (07/02/2023) if anything the place has gotten worse. Was told an hour plus when I put in a new prescription. Soon found out that it wasn't even close. Try 3hrs. Contacted the complaints phone number and they fobbed me off with 'it's hard at the moment'. Contacted the hospital complaints team and they came down immediately but couldn't make anything happen because, and I kid you not, they didn't have any managers working. She was informed it was an hour's turnaround at which point I reminded her I had already been there an hour. So I called her every 30mins to tell her I was still waiting as she asked. Nothing done though.

Two hour wait as an outpatient really isn’t acceptable, especially after an appointment in another department running an hour late. I have to return the next day as I couldn’t spend any more time waiting, hopefully all the medicine will be ready as it’s a difficult and long journey to the hospital without a car.
