Place is perfect if you love paying premium for budget misery. Otherwise, avoid. Staff move slower than evolution & don't understand orders and then get sassy about it & alcohol is overpriced. They give you the cheapest rail spirits imaginable & ran out of most booze before midnight on NYE. Ps: cloakroom guy’s spirit animal is 100% sloth.
Perfect party venue! I had my 24th birthday party in the Garden Room upstairs for 40 people. The room was perfect size and could’ve fitted more. I was taken care of by Jack and Marco who were attentive, professional and lovely. Although it was in winter, the garden section had heating which enabled people to move in and out of the space. Cannot wait to book again! Can’t recommend enough ❤️
I was here for a birthday and we were looked after very well by jack. The atmosphere was great and the birthday boy had a great time!
We rented the Garden room on Saturday night for a joint 30th birthday party and truly had the best time. The room is spacious, nicely decorated, with a private bar, some seating, and was attached to outdoor deck/smoking area. We used their aux and sound system which was easy and volume was great. There was also a DJ deck on offer. The bartenders, Jack and Katya, were AMAZING!! Best hosts we could’ve asked for. There were a few instances where people from downstairs tried to join the party but we asked them to leave. The outdoor deck/smoking area is shared with downstairs so that’s something to take into account but we had no problems with it. 10/10 recommend this space for parties/celebrations!
There's clearly a difference in offerings from this place at different times of the day so this is for a Saturday night. A distinctly average establishment. If this was placed in Shoreditch, Clapham or Soho it would be considered a dive bar. It's quite generic in design and offering, and the place is somewhat in disrepair, especially the toilets. I appreciate times are tough and maintaining late night openings is a difficult burden but £15 cover charge (cash only) is extortionate. Furniture stacked against the walls from 11pm, broken utilities (toilets).
Rob (from Reading) and his team are brilliant! Great bar with a great vibe. The roof terrace is particularly impressive. This place is going to be a real taste maker, I suggest you get involved early.
good cocktails and surprisingly good food, with plenty of veggie options. we booked a table on the roof terrace at 18:00 on a Friday. the vibe was super chill (although the service was perhaps a bit too relaxed). would definitely go back.
2-1 cocktails are great. Drinks were very strong and they didn’t hold back on the booze. We were sat inside due to rain but look forward to returning to go on the rooftop. Flaming ‘Coconaught’ was a highlight.
Really good vibes on the rooftop and the service at the bar was amazing. I’ll definitely be stoping by when I’m in the area. Love the commitment to plants on the ground floor.
