Lovely little walk around this park. Minute walk to Newton train station, petrol station and all local bars and restaurants. Area keot clean, lovely lake and great for fishing. Children's play area.

At 1st this looks a very uninspiring lake almost devoid of life, but take one of a few woodland paths that skirt round the lake and leave the woodland and lake behind. When you break from the woodlands you enter an open field and walk with a lovely wet woodland carr / fen mix to one side. Be ready to see / hear reed buntings, willow warbler among the more typical wren, magpies, song thrush, etc.. If visiting in early summer look for the pyramidal orchid among other plant species and plentiful insect life on the flowers. If you follow the path you will join a decaying wooden walk way and pass under the M6 motorway. Once you come out of the otherside of the underpass the path climbs a little and you can visit 'castle hill'. It also forms part of a bigger 10k looped path if you fancy a bit longer in nature.

We only stopped off as we were passing on the way home and thought we'd have a look around as it was a nice day. Nice and tranquil lake with lots of geese, ducks and gulls, also a couple of Swans. We had a short walk around and a sit down to take in a bit of people watching feeding the geese. Very peaceful and great to have a relax to gather your thoughts.

Lovely walk round the park and fields at the back with the dog, plenty of new smells for him. The park was relatively clean and the swings entertained the little girl for 10 minutes. Parking can be a bit difficult if it gets busy.

A lovely place but could be better. If this was looked after properly, it would make a fantastic walk. Unfortunately, there are a lot of overgrown areas full of nettles so it’s not really a person or dog friendly walk.

It's an amazing park. Nice chill out in the woods. I recommend for those who like the nature true form. Also great with dog. I don't recommend to visit as a family activities.
